Love these. Also, #5 makes me think of TSO's observation about "death on a bench"!
Wonderful quotes, every one. My favorite is the creativity, so true.
Hello from sunny Italy!
Great quotes - especially #5 - I made a point of NEVER learning the rules despite having to play the game for 5 years!
I hated hockey as well....and did everything I could to get out of it.
Some great quotes there....love the creativity one.
i am nodding my head, too! you can't argue with truth. :-)
GREAT quotes, I always love the one from Maya Angelou. Have a great day ... I'm off to the rink. Though I may not love hockey, my son does :)
Great quotes Sian. I really like the one from Maya Angelou. As for hockey, what can I say, I am Canadian and so therefore would likely be shunned if I said I hated it... but in all honesty I don't mind watching from the comfort of my living room with a warm fire :)
That's a lovely list of thoughts, Sian. I like the Maya Angelou quote - it's so very true. Still, the rest are all very apt as well - and I so agree about hockey!
Love the photo of The Small One - she looks very absorbed in her thoughts there.
Awww, it's a shame about the hocky, I always loved it. It was netball I never liked.
We have SO much in common - I was a hockey hater too! All that fresh air and mud - urghh! Great quotes, I especially like number one.
Great quotes! I love the one by Maya Angelou. So very true. As a Canadian I am not allowed to hate hockey. ;) Never played it as I don't skate well. Spent lots of time in arenas as a teenager, watching the boys. hee hee I still don't really get the rules of it other than trying to put the puck in your opponent's net but, I don't mind some time on the sofa keeping DH company as he watches. I am usually knitting so I don't get bored and it's warm!! :)
So funny! Hockey is not big here. I hated volleyball. Some of my favorite quotes in similar vein:
"What we remember from childhood we remember forever." and
"The smallest good deed is more valued than the largest good intention."
Rinda
I nodded my way through this post! And then smiled at the photo of TSO :-) I always preferred playing hookey to playing hockey....
Lots of nods here, too, and some are familiar to me. But the last one I didn't know, and it made me laugh. I grew up in an area where hockey was an unknown sport, and I've never really grown to appreciate it although it was a very big deal at my alma mater.
Oh these are wonderful.
And thank you for your words over at mine. Oh my - the post sparked a quite heated set of comments. maybe I should have a mini moan more often! :P
What a rich collection of thoughtfulness! :) And can I join the "We don't like hockey" gang? I played it once and hated it so much - and promptly joined the debating society as the after-school alternative!
Another here, that nodded and smiled while reading your quotes, I have to say, no 1 was my favourite, so much so I've read it a couple of times :)
Great quotes - I really like the first one best and may have to add it to my quotes book.
I have the Maya Angelou in my head and on my wall, Just lovely and so true x
Maya Angelou quote - so very true. Me i'm more a netball girl so i can sympathise with TSO X
Love the Maya Angelou one. Now as for the hockey one - hey I'm Canadian although I will say I much prefer watching it my the warmth of my family room instead of the rink.
