About Me

What can I tell you? I'm Sian Fair. I live in the UK with my husband and two teenagers. My Grandma taught me to knit when I was five and I've been making things ever since.

I've sewn dolls clothes, real clothes, curtains, coats and cushions. I've knitted, crocheted,cross-stitched, though it has been a while, and I discovered scrapbooking nearly six years ago when I wanted to make a wedding album for my sister. That led me to blogging and now I can't imagine a life without it.

We have a son (he's The Tall One: tall, obviously, dark, looks like his dad, studies Law and likes to play cricket) and a daughter (who started out as The Small One, but is now really quite a bit taller so that makes her The Not So Small One: she loves to dance, play the flute in the school band and do experiments) and we have a very high house in the city.

I am delighted to be on the Design Team for Gossamer Blue and a Creative Team member for Debbie Hodge's Get It Scrapped I have guest designed for scrapbook kit clubs including Jenni Bowlin and Quirky Kits, contributed to the UK scrapbook magazine Scrap365 and the Australian Jot Magazine and created projects for online classes at May Flaum's Craft With May and for features on Shimelle.com and Wilna Furstenburg's IheartStudio.

I love a cup of really good coffee, a fresh stack of new magazines, a warmly lit bookshop, a walk through some crisp Autumn leaves, a glimpse of the sea, a dollshouse door to peep through, a pile of felt scraps to sew with and, oh, Christmas cards from friends, fresh checks and richly coloured linens, buttons, bright things and a bundle of other stuff besides. And you'll find it all right here, High In The Sky..
