Plenty of Pages With Gossamer Blue

This post might be some kind of record for me. I'm not sure I've ever had four pages  ready to show all at the same time before. But that's the power of  a beautiful kit. I made every one from the Gossamer Blue June selections.

Gardening leave

As soon as I saw that pretty background paper I decided I had to do a gardening page. Problem: the only thing I found to say about gardening is that I'm not very good at it. No problem: our kind of "Gardening Leave" means we give ourselves permission to forget about the results. We plant, we wait, and if it doesn't work, we plant again.

Cake Etc

Lots of Dear Lizzy party pieces? I knew I had to go back and do another birthday page. If I used "ETC"

as a title, I could add in extra details, the bits of the story I hadn't written about already. It was a chance to use the big chipboard letters in the main kit: now I'm thinking it's an easy way to add an extra page anywhere. Call it Whatever Etc, add the random things you want to remember, and then you can call it done.

Harry P

..a page dictated by that gold alphabet - made for a Harry Potter page! - and that orange map paper. And then, when I kept looking, I found stars and little hearts to add too..

No, Really

Finally: flamingos (or flamingoes? I googled. It can be whichever you like) . I couldn't stop without using a flamingo ( now there's a phrase to conjure with..); so I made a page about my first visit to a Safari Park. It wasn't exactly yesterday, you understand, so I went a little bit retro..

These are the pages which appeared on the Gossamer Blue blog last week. I enjoyed making every single one, not least because I'm looking at lots of leftovers and thinking what next? That Fathers Day add on needs investigating more thoroughly before the month is out!

plenty to love - the philosophy of gardening leave makes perfect sense to me; remembering the first sight of a pink bird so many years later; the creative drive of what next with the left over bits; the scope of etc (and triggers of Yul Brynner saying it in The King and I)

beautiful pages and a lovely kit. I love my garden but wish I had a gardener to take care of it!

Now this is really interesting...you've looked at the papers.....& then thought how you could use them! I invariably start the other end. Look at a photo & find the papers to match.....maybe working with a kit might be a little different, I guess. Either ways, these are amazagobs. Too much for my little brain....but i ADORE the red polka dot paper/bday LO.....I'm a bit of a bold bright girl at heart....even though I'd LOVE to be that CAS girl in the last one. With the focus on the photos from just a few years back!!! They're all really lovely, though. So, you've been super busy with LOs. Me with just cards *winks*!!!!!

I love the big "ETC" letters and indeed the red polka dot background on that same page. Something for everyone here. Looks like a great kit, very versatile.

Gosh, hard to believe you have made four pages all from the same kit, Sian, and each so different ... I know the kit must be special but it takes a certain kind of brilliance to use it so creatively. I think the Gardening Leave and the No Really are my absolute favourites but the birthday page packs a happy visual punch too. I am inspired.

Oh my! I love them all; and all your bits and pieces and wonderful story telling. But my favorite is the last one with the flamingoes. LOVE it.

Lovely pages, you are spoiling us with delight for the eyes. I don't think I've ever seen you do a mostly red layout - it suits you.

Great layouts and I love the idea of an Etc page x

I usually start with the photo, so it's great to see pages that have evolved from paper first. I love the pop of patterned paper popping (lots of popping going on!) through the pink.

Really lovely pages - nothing wrong with that style of gardening, I give everything two choices when it goes in the ground!!

How fun! Makes me want to scrapbook.

You certainly are inspiring in your scrapbooking. For me in regards to gardening, if the plant dies I take it personally.

I needed it to feel the gap in the pink cardstock because I'd used the rest to cover the ETC letters :)

What a lovely collection of pages and memories - glad you are giving yourself gardening leave and managing to find time to play with those yummy pieces from the kit.

Your pages are always so delightful and so uniquely you! Love them.

So much gorgeousness to look at! I love how each page is so different from threat and yet they are all from the same kit. Think Garden a Leave is my favourite - your photo of the tap is fab and I love the layering.

Four gorgeous pages and that last one with the flamingo is just so perfect. I'm trying to find a story to use a flamingo on - love the idea but the story is elusive!

Lots of lovely things there but best is the story about your Mum seeing lions and you seeing your first pink bird. Come to think of it.... that is pretty cool!!
