My December Memories Album: Turning Time

You know, when Harry and Ron discovered that Hermione was using that Time Turner gadget, they laughed. But right now, I'd pay whatever she was asking to get my hands on one

I thought I had plenty of time today. I thought I'd be able to queue in the Post Office (again) and then drop into the bargain shop and find another singing Robin (which is what you do when your husband buys a novelty gift for someone and then takes a fancy to it, puts it together, finds he can't take it apart again and decides that after all, he'd really quite like to keep it). And I knew that the wool shop just happens to be right opposite the bargain shop, so it would be friendly if I took just a minute or two to call in and wish the wool lady a Happy Christmas (and honestly, nothing more..)

Because what I really wanted to do was to come home and take some pictures of my December Memories pages, quickly, before it gets dark, so that I could move on with dusting the bedroom of our returning student (ooh, look: that glasses case I've been missing since September. How did it get there? He doesn't even wear glasses..) and tidying it before he arrives tomorrow.

And if I had time after that, I had great plans to write an interesting post all about the school assembly yesterday, in which some of the most entertaining of the teachers did their own Christmas version of Room 101.

Mrs McC: tell us what Christmas item would you send to Room 101?

Crackers, because the hats never fit on my very big head

Because it's an intriguing thought, that if we all take away everything we don't like about Christmas and consign it to Room 101..

...we might be left with the truly important bits? Me? Christmas parking. That's the worst thing. Sitting in a queue of traffic isn't so bad; but getting there and failing to find somewhere to leave the car? That's Christmas Frustration wrapped up with a bow. Which is why I turned right round and came home again; and now it looks like I might get some of that stuff done after all, including the photos. Happy last weekend before Christmas!

Oh, and let me have your suggestions for a Christmas Room 101, if you have any. Maybe we'll be able to design the ideal Christmas.

I just love watching this special project come together! You must be beside yourself with excitement to gift this to your girl.

PS: I'm not a fan of Christmas parking either!

I had to google Room 101 - I LIKE that idea & now I hope we do get this show on BBC Canada. This special Christmas Journal is a treat & seems to be filling up quickly. This morning I had to go to a particularly busy place, so I grabbed my tea & a biscuit & sat in a perfect parking spot waiting for the shop to open & they opened 15 minutes early - score one for this lady today! What would I send to Room 101? Right now, the horribly deflated Canadian Dollar!

Such lovely, lovely pages, Sian. The combination of white and Kraft is perfect. What, Room 101? Can I pop tinsel in there?

Another great post xx

What's in a Christmas Room 101? Tinsel!

Brussels Sprouts ... I get that it wouldn't be Christmas without them..but i'd happily send them to room 101!

Beautiful book Sian x Hoping you have a lovely day tomorrow when TTO arrives home x

Lucky you to have the boy coming home tomorrow! Enjoy every minute. Your album is just gorgeous. I love the bright red and teal combination. Are all your goodies from the Gossamer Blue kit? It's all so lovely. I've come to the conclusion that finding a parking spot is totally a reason to celebrate. Last night (in a hurry to get home), I found one right in front of the store I needed to visit. You'd think I'd won the lottery.

Love it! I never made it down to the second hand store myself today either....but got a whole bunch of things done! So let's call it a win! Super pretty pages!

Oh, I wish I had a Time Turner Gadget, too! I'm so enjoying seeing this album come together!

The album is beautiful. Yes this time of year is always crazy busy. I think I would have wanted to stop at the wool shop too though. But who can leave without buying at least one ball? Good luck with your pre Christmas tasks. We were running around today and have lots to do again tomorrow. We are having our big meal on Sunday.

Your preparation is further on than mine! Mine has been a bit put on hold as my father is unwell and I have been spending long periods and nights with them

Sprouts and tinsel. I would love that Time Turner too. Having started the month in a fairly good position, December has frittered away with the hundreds of miles driven and the many hours spent on the telephone.

can I defend sprouts and tinsel - love them both. My suggestions for Rm 101 would be that everyone who is bah humbug about Christmas, for whatever reason, goes away for December to let the rest of us revel.

Really like the aqua with the red you're using here... & I hope you get to buy that red robin!!! Maybe after Christmas??!!!! I like Christmas. I don't like the price of stamps! That's all....

I'd like to send unrealistic expectations to your Room 101. Or is that too abstract a concept? Your December album is coming along beautifully!

Funny how time can slip away so quickly. I tend to have an unrealistic expectation of how long things will take. That's where I run in to trouble. And you are so right, the parking is insane. Now that my "parking guy/husband" has retired, I no longer have a free parking pass. If I can't get out early, I don't want to go. Still, I think you accomplished quite a lot. Happy holidays!

The set of fairy lights that stops working AFTER you have done the tree, and for which you can't find a spare bulb would go STRAIGHT into room 101 for me (along with sprouts). Loving your journal, I really like the colours x

Loving seeing this album coming together agree with you about the time turner! As for Room 101, putting all the decorations away at the end of Christmas - hate doing that but don't want them up all year so I suppose what I really need is someone to put them away fro me!

I love sprouts....it would be christmas wrapping that I dispensed with.

Your album is looking good! As for room 101 - I agree with the parking, it keeps me away from certain towns at this time of the year. Also (can I have two?) the food shopping although if I had been better organised I could have done it online!

It's looking great Sian!
such a treasure!!
love the anesdotes about your Bubles. We had a similar experience this year, sort of seeing your whole life flash before your eyes!

Oh this is pretty - ugh on parking.

I was sure I'd replied to this but maybe not - through Feedly.

The journal looks amazing! I walked miles before Christmas because I knew it would be pointless to take the car, I'm sure it's made my arms longer carrying all of the bags though!

Room 101 is an interesting idea Sian, I can share your frustration about queues and difficulty in parking, though this year hasn't been too bad. It might have helped that my shopping visits were few and far between.
