We're into May and I'm still managing to keep up with taking a photo a day, thanks to Suzie and Photo365+1. Here are my current favourites:
..handmade
Not by me this time, but by my sister some years ago now. It's a tiny felt Piglet (or "Plig-ett" as The Tall One used to say when he was little) and I've been meaning to take his picture since I bought a piece of October Afternoon paper which looks like the Hundred Acre Wood.
..art
This one is dedicated to my blogging friend Carmen whose stories of making art and drawing with her girls inspired me to say - go on then, I'll do it too when The (Not So) Small One announced her art homework. We spent a happy afternoon drawing portraits. A first for me - I'd never ever drawn a face before. I won't be handing it in to be marked: I was a D student in art at school. But I might have another go..
..tower
I know, it's a gratuitous Little E photo really. But he was building a Lego tower at the time.
..lights
The (Not So) Small One's dressing table mirror, put up for her by her Dad to illuminate a little alcove off her bedroom
..and finally flag
There are a lot of them about at the moment. I found this one in TK Maxx (along with some very nice Kilner jars and ..)
Before I finish today I want to shout some encouragement to my blogging friend Abi who has a plan. First Thursday of the month, she runs Operation Speak Out to encourage everyone who reads to leave a comment. In her own words "In one day to fill the internet with words of encouragment and happiness ". De-lurk on a few of your favourite blogs today!

Looks like that Little E is still very happy to have his photo taken....long may it last!!
Olympic mayhem and flag waving is quite low key over here at the moment, not long to go though! Our Opening Ceremony Uniforms were released today - errr, not our best, we will look like the linespeople at Wimbledon! Bring back the Mambo I say!
Lots of lovely pictures, I like your sketch, and the tower photo with little E is just adorable! x
I think you deserve an A for effort. Portrait drawing is notoriosly difficult and you have captured Little E brilliantly. Glad you are managing to keep up with your photo a day. I really look forward to your Thursday postings.
Yay! I can't believe it was your first go! Yes please do more, more, more :D
Craig is Union Jack obsessed at the moment and is loving the surge in products. He's been allowed to buy a couple of sofa cushions and a rug for the back door but I'm trying to tell him there is a very fine line between accents and all out chaviness. He would have galloped over the line waving his cushions, some blimming curtains, bedspreads and gawd knows what else way back in January if I wasn't chasing after him!
I'm impressed with the commitment! I couldn't even manage to get a photo every day for a week during WITL - totally blanked on Wednesday!
Love the photos each day and massive thank you to the shout out! Cannot wait for storyelling sunday this weekend! xxx
Spooky I've just bought some kilner jars and been drawing faces. I don't think I'm brave enough to show mine either.
Some great photos - love the Piglet!
What beautiful photos. I love the lights.
I am trying hard to leave comments on the photography blogs daily. I love seeing what everyone takes everyday.
The portrait is a very passable first attempt. It does take practice to be good at drawing - and you are very busy! My drawing needs improvement - I'm not nearly as good at it as I used to be!
The Piglet is brilliant. I still have a Tom Kitten that my sister made for me in her needlework lessons. The teacher gave her a B+, but I gave her an A++. He even had a little "straw" boater hat, made from card and felt, with a blue ribbon round it. And buttons on his little blue felt trousers.. He is pretty ace. Must find out where he is just now...
I daren't go in TKMaxx just now.. .too many nice things...
Off to do more work. Taking photos too, for a book tutorial (or maybe it'll be in 3 parts)
I think it's a great job at the face. They take practice, but, as I've discovered, can definitely be learned.

I'd find it hard to pick a favourite from these photos, they're really lovely Sian. I really wouldn't believe that it's your first attempt at portrait drawing.
I always enjoy your photos! Terrific sketch! Good for you for embracing art! I am strictly a stick person artist myself! ;)
Im still enjoying the 365+1 project & love your photo's here! I've been avoiding TKMaxx because I always find something I NEED (!) in there! Little E is such a cutie & I'm impressed with the portrait!! :D
Great shots, I like Piglet and of course Little E, that face of his :)
Lovely pictures - I specially like Little E - and "Pli-gett"
Piglet is too cute!
I think that lovely drawing bears a marked resemblance to little E - you keep drawing!
Love the lights and that cute face over the top of the tower!
Great pictures and I'm impressed by your drawing.
Your pictures are lovely. I love your piglet
I love your little piglet. Surely there's a story behind it and the Tall One's pronunciation!
I'd love to see some pictures of your craft room too!
My goodness, Sian, I think you have much more art talent that you believe!
great photos . Little E looks really cute
I am VERY impressed with the drawing Sian..and of course Little E steals the show!
Alison xx
Some great photos here - kind of making me wish I was joining in with this too!
Well done Sian on continuing with the photo365...me? Failed:( Never mind, I can look at yours.
There is a piece of Oct Aft that looks like 100 acre woods? ooooh a Pooh loving Princess may need a sheet of that!
Congratulations on the photo a day. I've contented myself with 'nearly' or 'about 7 a week' which is almost the same thing
