So here's the thing: the motto of the company we travelled with is "Escape Completely". And we did, oh we did. And yet as we travelled and looked and admired and wondered, I found myself spotting things you would have liked. And that was nice.
I saw a collection of trolls one of you would have loved. And a shop full of clean Scandi design another one of you would have wanted to bring home. And a decoupaged table which I just know would have had one of you reaching for the mod podge. And then I started looking for things from my list, my list for Rinda's Summertime Scavenger Photo Hunt, and I discovered a few:

I've been enjoying seeing who else has been joining in, as I sift slowly through the posts I've missed. I'm savouring them in between loads of laundry. Nearly there with that - I needed a fast turn around because on Sunday The Tall One flies to Pittsburgh to take part in the International Schools Language Olympiad. He's been doing a bit of training with Uncle Dave:

Wow, lovely photos! I really love Scandinavia... I had a couple of wonderful travelling holidays there, in my 20's, with a friend, a tent and a rail-pass. We went from Bergen, by rail, all the way North, then back down South through Sweden, ending up at Stockholm, then home by ferry, train and another ferry, via Denmark. The next time, we used buses and trains, to travel through Norway, Sweden and into Northern Finland too. They were both fabulous trips. Since then I have had a great holiday in Arandal, where my FIL comes from. He and MIL lived there for a while, when J. was little. We had a fab. week's holiday a few years back. I would love to live in Scandinavia...
It's great to see your lovely photos. I'm impressed that you remembered your Scavenger Hunt, even though you were on holiday. It's also rather nice that you thought of blog friends while you were away. Some of those "finds" sound great... I would have liked to be there, looking over your shoulder (metaphorically of course, else it would be just too creepy!!)

Good luck to the tall one. Pittsburgh is dear to my heart, lived there for several years. Lots of family and friends in Pennsylvania still.

Fab photos - bringing back happy memories of a rail tour round Norway in my 20s while I was living in Sweden - must get organised and take my family there some day - I've bored them enough with the tales!

I wasn't going to join in the scavenger hunt, and purely by chance showed the list of things to find to my husband. So we're in a park in Sheffield and he's pointing out 'look - a wooden bridge' 'oh look, what an impressive museum' and suddenly ...I'm in! Bet I can't find any wall art like that though - fantastic.
Maybe uncle dave needs to gem up on his Jedi mind games for TTO. Norway looks beautiful and the photos are fab.

Welcome back Sian! I'm now where you were when you wrote this. Got the laundry going; up just a bit early from the time change; contemplating my first post-holiday post; etc.
Love your pictures. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see so many people participating. And how cool that you found the mailboxes! Although my favorite (as you could probably guess) is the graffiti art.
