Not A Woolly Mammoth

It's not a woolly mammoth..

..it's just a sweater with a dinosaur on the front. I've been doing a bit more knitting and have finished up another gift for that rascal Little E. But I know I'm going to have to face up to the fact that there are only so many sweaters one small boy can wear and so I've been looking about for something else. I thought a new pet might be good

but Best In Show won't be here for a couple of weeks; so I might make a start on a set of knitted Russian Dolls from Knitted Toy Tales instead.

I think I might be starting to think about Christmas gifts. Mmm..I'm definitely thinking about Christmas gift tags or cards, or maybe an album, with the Banana Frog stamp set I won last week in a giveaway on Julie's lovely blog. Thank you!

Thanks today are also due to the delightful Denise for awarding me the Friendly Blog Award. What a nice thing to be known for! Not many rules with this one, so I'd like to include the two blogs I've already mentioned today Banana Frog and the very friendly Julie. How about that?

More soon. I've got some casting on to do now..

Oh my word I just love the look of those knitting books. You are going to have to let my know what dogs are in the book and what you are going to knit. Can't wait to see your knitted dolls.

......and wow what a fab jumper he is a lucky little boy.

That sweater is just gorgeous....
don't forget though....he is a boy....and may even get through more than one sweater a day....so a few more may come in handy!!!
I do have a pattern for some knitted dinosaurs if you're interested. My DD1 was a dinosaur for some years....that was before she became a rabbit.

Wow, Sian, that sweater is amazing! I'm always in awe of knitters who can cast a design in the middle of all those other stitches. It's something that I just can't visualize how it even happens! I love the idea a knitted pet...can't wait to see what you come up with. I vote for a turtle. ;o)

Beautiful sweater! The "pet" book looks cute too! And I love the stamp set, I've been starting to think too. I remember last year wishing I had started in August. lol

Maybe the next pass the book should be a knitted pets book and we can take it in turns to knit a different animal!
Lovely jumper, and I agree with Jacky, boys can get through quite a lot of clothes!

The sweater is beautiful Sian! And I seriously need to start thinking Christmas if I am going to do anything handmade.

Did I read that right? Knitted? Russian Dolls? I'm starting up a one woman protest right here, right now that they are your next project. You can't just throw something like that out there and say 'might'. I love russian dolls and have never ever seen a knitted set so for the benefit of my eyes at least - go forth and knit! :P

Can I come and live with you, Sian? There seem to be more hours per day in your house than there are in mine! At the very least, I would learn how to be so creatively efficient and effective! That dog has just creased me up ...

I'm lucky to have a MIL who loves to knit for the kids - the jumper is divine, you can't have too many and I really like that little doggie!

Can I ask ... Is there anything you don't do AMAZINGLY well? :)

It's such a cute sweater and oohhh I'm loving the little doggie.

Sorry I've been bad with my blog reading, I think I've got a lot to catch up on, and it's always a real pleasure to read yours.

such a cute sweater! does it come in my size?! : -) the dinosaur might be a bit too scary if it had to be that big.

Of course, if you can't stop knitting sweaters, you could always set up a shop on Etsy, Folksy etc and Sell some. Extra pocket money for those Christmas projects!
The dog project book looks great. I'm working on another of those cute white Westie sock-puppies - I want to give him a red dog-coat and tartan collar for Christmas!
You certainly deserve a Friendly Blog award. I wish I'd thought of that ...

I love that jumper, and those stamps are gorgeous. Do you remember those sheep jumpers that were all the rage when Princess Diana wore one? There was one odd sheep in a different colour? I started making one- it's up in the loft somewhere I only got about two rows in from the rib.....lol

Love the stamps you won and can't wait to see what you do with them.
Congrats on the blog award - well deserved in my opinion :o)
Have a great weekend.

Oh wow, if only I could knit like you! I never made it beyond scarves, but I loved the catharsis of knitting (so very soothing). I can't wait to see how your next project turns out - the knitted dog is adorable!

That jumper is fabulous, I love the cardies that my nan hand knits for my daughter, I wish I could do it.

Now that the weather is cooler my little girl has been wearing the hat you gifted to her a lot, and has been getting lots of compliments! You should definitely think about an etsy shop. xx

I love this sweater, but really - can a little one have too many sweaters? I think not. LOL

Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
