It Was Crumble But Not As We Know It

Last Sunday I burned the apple crumble. It was a bad day to choose because The Small One had sliced the apples, sprinkled the sugar and crumbled the crumble all her very own self. I stared sadly into the oven and I wondered how best to break it to her. Luck was on my side, though; because she was in the bath by the time I discovered that we hadn't had dessert yet. And when I shouted through the door, the fact that she was lying in a vast bubble bath cocktail of her own invention seemed to cushion the blow. She took the news calmly. We all breathed a sigh of relief and The Tall One and his Dad chewed manfully through the remains. It tasted like dry toffee.

I'm being more careful this Sunday. With one eye on the oven, I've been making this:

And if the snow comes on again and we can't get out for a walk, I'll turn this into a page too:

It's my favourite iPhone photo so far.

Today I'm Loving...the new phrase I discovered in the paper today. "Digital twitch" which happens when you mistype because you are hurrying to send an email or go out or (in my case) check on the dinner before your laptop battery runs out. Happy Sunday!

Sorry about the crumble! That i-phone photo is amazing! Will surely make for a great layout. Do you use any of the i-phone apps for when you take the picture or do you just use the built-in camera as is?

love the layout. and smart moving braking the news when she was in the bath- everything is quite easier when one is submerged in bubble, no?

The Narnia layout is beautiful! I love the spray ink and stars. You also set such lovely settings for your layouts. I'm all set to stage a photo for my post tomorrow, and I'm thinking of your inspiring photos.

The layout is just wonderful. I made it larger so I could take in all the details. The title treatment is fabulous. I love the dimension in it and with the stars.

I remember chomping away at burned pudding so my mum might believe it didn't matter that it got burned... Your boys are kind to eat it up.
I love your Narnia Maybe layout.. yours are always so imaginatively thought out and have such good titles.
The photo is really good - I'd never have thought it could have been taken by a mobile phone!

Beautiful photo - very atmospheric ... Does scrapping and cooking involve lots of whizzing up and down the stairs from your eyrie? x alexa

Love the spritz on the page. Is that the glimmer mist stuff? So glad your daughter took it well and that the next crumble survives.
