I know that I like to send you a smile when I can, and so far it seems to be working; but today I 'm sending a smile of a different kind. The Small One and I were channel surfing recently (why do kids do this now? what happened to clearing your schedule in case you missed Grange Hill? Or Hong Kong Fooey for that matter?) and we came across this years BBC Blue Peter Appeal. It's a wonderful choice this year (isn't every year?) and this can do a much better job of explaining it all than I can. Please watch the video. I've been pondering this for a couple of weeks now; and I'm still amazed by the difference these doctors can make in 45 minutes. 45 minutes. It really makes you think. The Small One was completely captivated by the scheme (she likes scheming) and so the very next day she made this
and then she made a few more. We bought some inexpensive t-shirts in Matalan (although I bet Tesco or Asda would be just as good) and used fabric pens so things didn't get too complicated. It was quick and satisfying and you could give it a go too. Last time I looked the Totalizer was at 2000. The Small One wants to be absolutely certain that her gowns have been added to the pile; so I'm off to check. Coming?
Today I'm Loving ... All of my wonderful, warm, funny commentors who were happy to share their "small" stories on Short Happens. A big (and not a small) wave to Helena, Elin; Meg; Anna; Jan; Deb; Jacky; Kai; Claire; Madelineas; Karen; Jinnag; Tinkertaylor; Sarah; chksngr and Julie. I hope I haven't missed any one: I'm standing on tiptoes as it is.
