All I Want For Christmas is Glue

And Liquid Nitrogen. And possibly some Dry Ice. All at the same time. Is it too early to start talking about Christmas? The Small One doesn't think so. We've always known that she likes to experiment. She likes to see where things fit, when things break, why things stop (or start, actually. She's not really fussy - get it going or force it to seize. They're both good ). If you can take it apart, then you can try putting it together again. If you can put it together, then you can make another one. A bigger, brighter, better one. You can think big. You can win friends and influence people. You can..you get the idea.

Starting a new school has helped her vision grow. Now there's Science Club! And they had a Halloween Special! With homemade sparklers to try and gunge to squish. And if you're quick and you're slick, you can smuggle home a pair of latex gloves before the teacher has time to say "Everyone under the table, I think it's going to blow." She brought them home and she filled one with water and put it in the freezer. This is what she made. It's an ice hand and I think it's very cool indeed.

So she's thinking about Christmas and I'm starting to think about Christmas. Or last Christmas: because that is where my scrapbooking is taking me

Today I'm Loving....Good Neighbours At Bikini Bottom. It's SpongeBob. Its Lego. Together. Genius.

I love making ice hands! The Girl and I made one for a science homework recently. We carefully removed the glove and carefully packaged the hand up and carefully carried it to school. Despite all of our care, some of the fingers broke off. Our hand ended up making A Statement. Not an entirely appropriate Statement. I had some Explaining to do to The Girl's teacher. And a good time was had by all....

Reminds me of all the ice hands [and other much stranger] objects I've made with nursery children. There's something really fascinating about ice.

I can't believe we haven't made ice hands before. Will definitely put it on the list of things to do. And what an adorable layout!
