Pile Of Postcards: Update

It's a crisp, bright Thursday morning here, and our postman has just arrived unusually early. So I'm taking that as a sign that it's time to get going on pulling together all the addresses and making up the lists for the Pile Of Postcards Valentine Exchange

I have 51 names - even more than the last time! - and that means we have eight groups of six and enough for a ninth if I shuffle myself into more than one group OR if another couple of you get in touch. So, if you are on the fence, come and join us! We've got a great international group - you never know where your postcards might appear from. I'm going to work on the lists tonight...

...and I'll be sending them out next week. It'll be quiet here, I think, for the next few days. With The (Not So) Small One away, her Dad and I have plans. Maybe a road trip? It'll be our first, just the two of us, in twenty years. We don't know where we're going, we think we'll just drive. See you soon.

have a fabulous time - when I read 'just drive' my heart fluttered and I realised that a nomadic, unplanned trip is what I need

I've been on the fence about the postcards this go round. I know my limitations and just need to pass this time. I know I'll regret that!! Knowing you, you'll have postcards from just about anywhere on your road trip! Have fun and be a little naughty!

This is such a good idea and I can't wait to see everyone sharing their postcards.

Just driving & not having it all planned out is one of our favorite ways to travel! Have FUN!

Have fun! It sounds like a great plan.

Like Barbara I am on the fence. Not such about reaching out like that and know I will regret it. We had our first trip on our own away in 20 years last September. It did feel strange but it was refreshing. enjoy!

How exciting! I am on tenterhooks for the postcard thingy. Mr M and I love doing the road-trip anywhere. I once made some little cards that had left and right written on them. we carried them in a little pouch and he would ask "which way?" I would put my fingers into the pouch and pull out a card and that's the way we would go. When you live on an island you can't get lost.

Have a wonderful 'you two' time this weekend.....it's Australia Day over here, so celebrations galore. Our road blocked off, & fireworks etc. Should be fun in the sun!!!

That sounds just the thing, Sian, and this comes with best wishes for your time away. So hard to get when you're a parent! We'll all be still here and glad to see you when you are able to post again :).

Ooh, if there is still time, can you add me to the list please? :)

This sounds neat! I used to do postcard exchanges at Postcrossing, but haven't done it in a few years. If you're still looking for some people, I'm up for participating! Let me know!

i hope you took that road trip and you enjoyed yourselves. It must have seemed strange it just being the two of you x x

A road trip for just the two of you sounds perfect! Sorry the timing didn't work out for me joining the postcard exchange this time.

Have a wonderful road trip Sian. It will probably seem strange without the children, but I love it when it is just the 2 of us.

I'd love to join if it's not too late, but if you've already got too many I'll wait for the next round. :-)
