Cardmaking on the Unicorn Diet

I have no idea whether unicorns like to eat hay - maybe you have some more magical suggestion? - but I was happy to work with what I had when I decided to make some cards

with pieces from the September Gossamer Blue kits. The unicorn went on first ( because I had just spotted that card which is circling Pinterest at the moment, maybe you've seen it, "When my mom said I lived in a dream world, I nearly fell off my unicorn") and then I trimmed a banner from a diecut in the W R Memory Keepers ephemera pack. I don't often add sparkle, but you can't have a unicorn without a gold star.

Then I made this one:

with a cat sticker from Crate Paper Cute Girl put together with a Chipboard bow from Paige Evans Take Me Away collection.

And then I changed direction entirely and started cutting out flowers from a sheet of Take Me Away (No 5) because I can't stop myself trimming round a pretty shape and I made this one

with the addition of a chipboard frame from the Cute Girl chipboard sheet and a little hipboard heart from the Take Me Away pack. I have the rest of the flowers still sitting out on my desk. I'm not sure I'm finished with them yet.

But for now, I have to put down my scissors and do some uber-landlording. We might be heading towards Ikea...

YUM! Love em all. Your cards ROCK.... I think my fave is the flowers... & go figure about that, cos I HATE fussy cutting and I'm not good at 'doing' flowers. Maybe that's WHY I Love it so much....& the frame idea to boot. TICK!!!

The theme of my granddaughter's birthday party this month is unicorns and rainbows. I hadn't thought much about unicorns until recently, and here you are with a darling unicorn card! Like Lizzy, my favorite is the one with the gorgeous flowers; the frame is just perfect.

Now there's a pretty trio ... I hadn't heard the one about falling off a unicorn - I'm tucking that away for future use :). The stitched frame looks great, and your fussy-cutting is second to none. I'm not envying you the IKEA trip!

What gorgeous cards. All mine always seem to look the same so I will try to be a bit more inventive in future! I think hay with a sprinkle of edible glitter sounds like a balanced diet for your everyday unicorn!

Really nice cards, each one so different. The kitty one only just pushes past the unicorn one for me.

Lovely cards. Unicorn food? Well we sell bales of hay and will oblige rabbit owners by finding them a bag of really nice stuff but I don't think we have had any requests for unicorn fodder. I'm pretty sure unicorn hay would have a bit of glitter added in....perhaps a new line...

I was under the impression Unicorns only ate marshmallow clouds...my bad ;)

Those are darling cards. It sounds like you are enjoying getting the place ready for your newest tenant - hope IKEA fun was fruitful. I was lucky to be able to spin through one over Labor Day weekend when visiting family out of town. I was very restrained just one blanket and two cute tin cups for the studio - but my maybe, just, maybe list from there is growing.

Lovely cards! I had not read that quote about the unicorn, but it's great!

I'd not read the quote about the unicorn either. Unicorns always make me think of this cartoon:

Where we see a lot of reality reflected.

I don't know about unicorn feed - except what Phoebe and her unicorn 'Heavenly Nostrils' talk about. But I've seen cans of Unicorn meat which always sounds rather disturbing.
