Memorandum Monday

Hey Monday! At least, I think it's you..

...it's a bit hard to tell when it's dark enough here to need all the lights on, along with a complete change of clothes after every trip outside. But enough complaining! I'm going to keep it short today because I expect it's going to be a quiet one today. Happy Independence Day if you are celebrating!

Given the it-feels-like-November weather, it was a stay indoors weekend here. But that can be good. After all I learned something new just as I was falling asleep last night, just when I thought I was going to fail you (and I promise I'll never complain again about bedtime companions who like to read out the interesting bits of a book before passing it on): I learned that the word "aficionado" comes from the Spanish  "aficionar" which means to "get somebody interested in". Covers the wekend, then, because he did this:

and I did this:

and no, I have absolutely no idea why blogger won't upload my photos at the usual size. Maybe it's a sign for me to stop and go and add another inch to this while I keep an eye out for my box of paper.

Did you lean anything new this weekend? Or try anything for the first time? Maybe now would be the Monday to make a memo. Come and join us!

With thanks to Deb, Helena, Eileen, Jane, Mitra, Mary-Lou, Susanne, Maggie, Fiona, Ladkyis, Barbara and Melissa who all shared a little of their weekend. May your Monday be a good one and may the rest of the week follow suit!

My goodness that jumper is growing so fast! Wow! Let's hope the temperatures soon get higher so that the lucky recipient of it doesn't feel the need to wear it straight away.

What a lovely rich purple that is. It's rather Novemberish here today too. I'm in the kitchen as there is some daylight coming through those windows.

We saw something very rare yesterday and this morning. The sun. Where has it gone now?

That sounds like a very relaxing weekend which is always a good thing. Your knitting is amazing. Hope your sun shines soon and that your paper arrives. It would have been a great weekend to scrap. I finally picked up my baby blanket yesterday and got quite a bit done. This baby shower is 1.5 months away so I have to get moving on it. Diane's best friend is expecting a little boy. :)

Hello, I'm back and ready to start Mondaying again. Love the jumper, the colour is beautiful. We actually had a little taste of summer this weekend - up until then every day I had been declaring that I had been warmer in the Northern Isles!!

Have a great week!!

The sun actually showed her Dec today, although I did have to do a dash and pull my bedding off the washing line before it rained lol. Lucky it was just a very short shower xx

It must be so frustrating to have to hang on for your lovely box of paper while it is awol, but your knitting is looking beautifully even and neat. We actually saw some sun yesterday which was a welcome relief; I didn't bother putting away winter clothes this year and just as well! May there be pretty paper and sunlight in your High In The Sky room very soon!

That wool is a fabulous colour! The way the weather is going this year we might all be celebrating Christmas on the beach! :)

We often have trading card sorting or sticking going on around here, but definitely not any knitting! Hope y'all get a reprieve from all that rain soon!
