Memorandum Monday

The last of the lamb has been turned into sandwiches, and the chocolate mountain has been conquered (all apart from the 1.7kg - just checked that - jar of mini eggs). The books are out on the desks, because after Easter comes exam time: so we were on our own, The Accountant and I, as we set out to enjoy our "something new" this weekend.
It's four years since we first needed a car that was easy on fuel and cheap to insure for the new drivers in the house, and we decided on a little white Fiat 500. Many miles later, the time had come to swap it for a new one: same colour, same numberplate (which we kept because of its lucky combination of letters), same fun to drive. Though four years on, its drivers aren't as keen to be photgraphed as they used to be. You'll have to put up with me instead: wearing, I've just noticed, the same coat and scarf I was photographed in, in Edinburgh, in February. Not much sign of April sunshine here yet, that's for sure. But the grass is green, the daffodils are out, and yesterday we had fun messing about. I can't help wondering what we'll all be doing next time we change this car. Jobs, by then, not exams, maybe?

Wishing you a good week, wherever you are and however you get about about! Last time Deb, Helena, Eileen, Alison, Mitra, Mary-Lou, Cheri, Susanne, Maggie, Ruth, Barbara, Jane, Gail, Ladkyis and Julia all shared a little of their weekend, what was new, what they had learned that they didn't know before. Go on: give 'em a wave! You'd be very welcome to join us. If you are making a memorandum about what's new on Monday, please leave me a comment and I'll be over to pick up a few tips, or cheer, or commiserate, whatever is needed to get us up and running this Monday.

Car changes are a good way to mark time - would make a fun mini book. I keep hoping I can take my big coat to the drycleaner and put it away til the end of the year but the weather is not co-operating

Funny how time moves very quickly when working out how many years you've had a car, isn't it? Same colour and same plate ... will anyone even notice that you've changed the car (unless it's no longer a Fiat 500, of course!)?

This is the year that my little mini will be replaced, and I went to the dealership recently for a little look around and I have a sneaky suspicion that I'll be sticking with the same model and quite possibly the same colour too!
Enjoy adding a few miles to the clock of your lovely new Fiat, they look such fun cars to drive!

Your new car is awesome! I want to go with something smaller next time. I'm tired of getting blocked in! I do believe you could be a car model!

Congratulations on your new car. I have to change my car later this year and I'm dreading it - I always put it off for as long as I possibly can!

You know how I always say your scrapbook pages inspire me to scrap? I'm getting new-car-envy now ... yours looks lovely.

Ours is ancient. And more than a little past it [I won't list the faults with it ... it might hear and then finally give up on me]. But, as I have no interest in cars I find it hard to get motivated to look for a new one - until the tyres go flat *yet again* and I have to pump them up before I can go anywhere!

No sunshine here today either. Oh for a clear sky!

Happy new week to you. x

Looks like a great combo to me - sweet and petite - car and owner.

That looks good. A new car is always exciting! Who gets to keep it clean??

Wow! That's some jar of Mini Eggs! Fiat 500s are such cute little cars. I pass one on my daily walk (on hiatus for the moment!) parked by the railway bridge and I always think of you and wonder how your learner driver is getting along. Happy Monday Sian.

It's so nice to see the lovely green grass in your photos - welcome spring! I like the way certain milestones trigger thoughts on the past and the future. We host Easter dinner every four years and when it's our turn (like this year) I inevitably think about what was going on last time and I wonder what life will be like the next time. Good luck with your new vehicle!

Have fun with the new car...it was new garden furniture for me this weekend...I would much rather it had been a new car...but we start small here! xx

It's a sign of a good car, when you replace it with the same thing you had before. I think I'm on my fifth Subaru Forester---haven't tired of one yet! I'm back to wearing winter coats as well. The daffodils (which blossomed while we were away) are covered in snow today.

oh my! I know we were supposed to look at the CAR but my lawn is under snow at the moment and my daffodils were rescued from the ice, so I'm really looking at ALL THAT GREEN and those flowering bushes! So jealous! Thanks for sharing all that SPRING! hugs!

That car really suits you! Hope it warms up for you soon. Fairly mild here over the weekend and even today!

What a super set of photo of you, Sisn - and I am still wearing my winter coat too. Am admiring the car - since my shoulder is taking such a long time to recover, we've been looking at an automatic Fiat 500 so I can at least get mobile again. Hoping you have a long and happy relationship together! Do you give your cars a name?
