Memorandum Monday

Ah, Monday! I'll be quite happy to see you over and done with! It'll have to be a quick post from me today because my broken root and I have a date with Darren The Dentist. Me? I'm from the if it ain't broke, don't fix it school of tooth management; but as Darren The Dentist looked me straight in the eye and told me this one was most definitely broken, I suppose I'd better turn up this morning, as directed.

So that gives me just about enough time to make a Monday memorandum about something new I did at the weekend.

I distracted myself from thoughts of extraction with some sock knitting (of course) for February's Sock of the Month: a new pattern knitted in by me and not created in front of my very eyes by the clever self striping yarn. But my newest new thing is the set of gelatos which arrived here on Friday. This is quite big for me. I never buy artist-y stuff. I have no watercolours, or watercolour paper, or gel medium, or acrylics; instead I have a couple of craft paints and a handful of brushes left over from our potato printing days here. I regularly scored a C in Art at school and I gave it up after two years to do German instead. But I've become more and more drawn to thoughts of painterly backgrounds for my pages and I want to experiment. It feels like fun this time round.

And I have just enough time to draw a winner for the Love Your Selfie Giveaway. That would be Ali Ali, I think I might have your address; but if you could drop me a line with it just to double check that would be great.

And enough time to give a special wave to everyone who posted a Monday Memorandum last week.  Becky, Deb, Ruth, Rinda, Eileen, Jane, Miriam, Mitra, Gail, Mary-Lou, Karen, Susanne, Fiona, Maggie, Louise H, KraftyKaren, Alison, Helena, Karen and Ladkyis

Anything new you did at the weekend? Something you know now which you didn't know before? Make a note! Then you can post it on  Memorandum Monday.

And, oh look: I've just left myself enough time to put a nice soft, very soft, no chewing at all, sausage and cannellini bean casserole in the slow cooker. That's something to look forward to. Have a good week!

Wishing you swift healing and hoping they really are cannellini beans this time!

You'll be in my thoughts all day. A procedure at the dentist is one of my very least favorite things to do even though I have a very kind, gentle, and skilled dentist.

oh dear, will be thinking of you x

I hope the dentist visit was successful. I look forward to seeing painterly backgrounds on your pages - that would be a good fit in my mind. And I think you've given me a nudge to start some beans soaking for navy bean soup. Have a great week, Sian.

OMG I hope you will be pain free very soon! I am off to the dentist today too, but just for a check up.

Good luck at the dentist. Do you want me to tell you a horror story about if you don't attend to things like this? No? Well I'm going to anyway. I heard of someone who was seriously ill with septicaemia from an undiagnosed dental abscess. Need I say more? Good luck with your art pens. Look forward to seeing the results.

Well the week can only get better after an early Monday morning dentist appointment - hope it went well and the family treat you with the TLC anyone with a fixed tooth root deserves.
I know you are going to put those new gelatoes to good use and look forward to seeing the first layout that they appear on.

Since you are hours ahead of me I am going to presume the dental ordeal is a fait accompli and you will be attended to in the manner you so deserve....but glad you were smart enough to take care of the meal needs beforehand! I think I shall join you on Monday memorandum today :)

Poor Thing! You likes going to the dentist?
I wish you luck with this!

I haven't played with my Gelatos in months, years even!
Let's see, what have I learnt this week-end?
I recently learnt that Quinoa was not a cereal and that it can be delicious which is great because I plan on cooking with it regularly!

xx

Good luck at the dentist. I'm a regular visitor because I hate tooth pain. I'm all about prevention. How exciting to be working with some new art supplies. I too was less than accomplished in art class. Probably why I'm afraid of wet mediums. LOL Enjoy your yummy supper. :)

Healing thoughts for the tooth. Your Dentist sounds like a nice one. I cannot believe you received a C in art (which a honourable grade), you have demonstrated so many times you are A+++ artsy person. When I see gelatos I can only think of ice cream, but that could be the withdrawal talking.

Hope that your tooth is soon sorted. The casserole sounds nice! I've never used gelatos but am not sure that I would really be 'in to them' if you know what I mean! Hope you enjoy using them. Waving back to you this week :)

Hope Darren was kind to you and that you're not in too much pain xx

I hope everything went ok at the dentist, not a nice start to the week :(

Good luck with The Devil - oh! Sorry! I meant The Dentist!!!! And yay to soft food & also Gelatoes..... You may need to coat your white paper with white gesso so it doesn't turn a sodden mess.... Can't wait to see what you do:):)

Hope Darren the Dentist treated you kindly and gently. The casserole sounds lovely. I look forward to seeing what you do with the gelatos.

Have a good week once you get over the dentist visit x

A broken tooth does not sound like fun. Hope your appointment went well and everything is fixed and healing quickly! Gelatos can be a lot of fun - enjoy playing.

You and I are from the same school of thought, so I'm sending you good vibes on the tooth front x

Now I must admit I'm shocked about you and art at school. I would have put you as an A+ art student

Oh no the dentist!! Eeeek..

You are a woman of my own heart.... my scrapbooking and art mediums would never cross paths UNTIL gelatos and watercolours. You will be hooked..the colour...the way it washes.. just beautiful.
Oh and that casserole.... hard to imagine eating casserole here today when the estimated temp is somewhere near 40 but it sounds delicious just the same.

OH, I just know you're going to have FUN with those gelatos! Hope the dentist visit went well! :|

I do hope your trip to the dentist was not too traumatic, somewhere I avoid if possible. And I hope you are feeling much better.

I have never tried gelatos,Sian, and if you'd asked me, I'd have thought they were something edible! Clearly not :). Hoping that broken root is now fixed and as pain free as is possible. Soothing food sounds just the thing - my culinary skills are nowhere near as good as yours (and perhaps I am lazier!), for my go-to post-dentist meal is dippy eggs all round. Wishing you a happily creative week!

Hope the extraction went well and you heal smoothly and quickly. I've decided to buy some distress crayons once we've moved....

Hope all went well at the Dentist and you didn't require more work - that is definitely one place I don't like going to.
