Me On Monday

It was a have we really known each other that long? kind of a weekend. (That would be back to the days when Freshers' Week was at the start of October) A how do we celebrate when we can't think what else to do/ We go to Ikea! weekend. A weekend with my lovely, lovely library drawers, which I'd spotted in Ikea when we were in Scotland, decided to look for at home, failed to find in the catalogue, and finally made my own on Saturday. They're a creamy white metal, they look like a card catalogue...

...what else can I say apart from I think I'd like another set, please, or possibly one for every room in the house.

It was also a rugby watching (again) weekend. An unidentified berries found in the freezer: let's put them in a crumble and see if we live to tell the tale weekend. An new, illustrated Harry Potter ordering weekend (I'd like to put it away for Christmas, but everyone I've talked to says it's too nice to save so I expect I'll cave when it gets here and open it). A new winter sweater weekend. A hearing about Little E's Undertaker costume weekend (you want pictures? Me too). A cast on a new pair of socks weekend. A picture hanging weekend.

Which leaves Me On Monday moving stuff around rather than decluttering this week:

I'm filling the drawers of my card catalogue. With wool. But I'm not alphabetising it. Honestly.

Before I head off to give everyone a wave this fine Monday, I'd like to thank all who have contributed to the discussion on commenting on Friday's What to Say? post. I'll probably do a follow up post when I've finished my 300 comments in 30 days; so I'll just quickly run two things past you today. Firstly, if you have a Google + blog, I've been unable to leave you a comment because I don't have a Google+ account. Sorry about that. And, secondly, with Julie's permission, because she thought of it first, I have echoed her plan of a Pinterest board to record the blogs I've visited. I have tried to start with everyone who left me a message on Friday but I'd love some suggestions! Any blogs you think I should visit? After I've finished with the Monday-ers, of course

So Helena, Deb, Ruth, Eileen, Mary-Lou, Fiona, Louise H, Barbara, Karen, Julia, Sheena, Susanne, Maggie, Ladkyis, Louise and Liz all gave us a wave last Monday. If you were thinking of joining the comment challenge, returning their beginning of the week good wishes could be a good place to start, maybe? Have a good one!

You had quite an adventure weekend. I like your library card drawer/storage unit. If not in alphabetic order how will you find? Colour order? Moving things around can certainly be part of a decluttering, well I think so, because sometimes you find uses for things hidden somewhere. Oh please don't tempt me with the new Harry Potter - I have been strictly forbidden to even touch at the stores! I hope you have a wonderful week exploring your own things :) PS: the two frames, curious for more ...

Interesting library drawers - I was wondering what you'd be putting in them. How big are they if you can get yarn in them? I'll be heading over to check out your pinterest board once I've done my Monday post. I hadn't noticed the Google + thing but I have noticed I have a hard time commenting on some blogger blogs from my Typepad account.

Alphabetized yarn - LOVE it! Has my mind spinning about what else could be stored in card catalog drawers.

I love the card catalog!! Years ago, while working at the high school, I noticed a beautiful old wooden one that had been retired from the library gathering dust in the storage room. I thought of asking to buy it, but didn't. It has haunted me ever since. I'll look forward to a close-up shot of yours and what you do with it.

Don't get me wrong ... I *always* enjoy seeing a new post from you but, when I've got 92 comments left to leave in 5 days, and an empty blog reader, and I've re-visited the best of the new blogs I've found and no one has posted anything new lately ... then boy, am I glad to see you!!

Those drawers are lovely - I keep seeing lovely storage [y'know, on all those blogs I'm visiting] and getting envious as I have no more room for any fancy storage. [I daren't even start tidying my workroom today ... I seem to have had an explosion lately of non-fiction books /magazines /notebooks and need to find space for it all before I can free up my desk to work on!

p.s: I hope that freezer fruit turned out OK. Kirsty did that once and, rather than the raspberries she was hoping for she got ... sun dried tomatoes ...

Oooh, I have library drawers envy! Great win in the rugby ... I am now supporting the men in green, what with my ancestry and all!

Firstly congratulations on your meeting each other anniversary. How lovely to have known each other for so long. Secondly please tell me that when you visited IKEA you took your personalised catalogue with you to try and get some VIP treatment and discount and that you took at least one of your offspring with you to experience the embarrassment! I love the library drawers and so useful. An undertaker costume? Really? I have visited your Pinterest board. I like that. Funny you should mention not being able to comment on some blogs. I have commented many times on Karen's Random Reflections but I could not post my comment this weekend. How are you counting your number of comments? A chalk mark or notch on the wall? A sweet or pebble in a jar. Or perhaps something a little more modern such as an App?

sounds like another busy weekend, love the wool and the drawers. The undertaker costume sounds interesting, reminds me of when my boys were in to wrestling, I liked The Undertaker!

I'm seriously considering moving or getting rid of something in order to fit in those draws .... oh what I could put in them! ... No ... that will not help my decluttering. Oh Sian, you should come with a warning first, you temptress lol.

Loving the idea of the pinterest board ... more blogs to check out and fall in love with. Gotta love blog friends x

Love those drawers....I think mine would be filled with felt. I wish we lived near an IKEA.

I wondered what was going to go in those drawers, I should have guessed!
Can't wait to see Little E in his costume - there's got to be a scrapbook layout ready for that photo. Good luck with your commenting - 10 a day, that's got to be do-able. The cooking/ironing/shopping/dusting can always wait ;-)

You are a bad influence on me ... those library drawers are now just what I need! Not a 'want' but most definitely a 'need'. And Ikea is only about 30 miles away ......

Genius! I’ve only been counting by making sure I do at least 10 every day. But if I could put stones in a jar or something, there might even be a nice photo in it. I love this idea!

Yes: I get where you're coming from. Once I've been round my Reader and a few extra..then where? lol

I love a good crumble & Ikea :D

I'm in love with card catalogue type furniture, and would own some if only I had room! I bought a Raskog cart a year ago and filled it with my art supplies. It's the best! I've followed your new Pinterest board, but am afraid to link through to too many new blogs. Have all I can do to keep up with the drawing/photography blogs I already follow in addition to my friends!

That catalogue-er looks FABULOUS. Yeah. Rubgby. NOT good for Ireland losing all those good players against France. See? I can even parrot what I've heard!!!
I joined in! That's what happens when I"m not doing challenges;)

Oh my - my comment keeps disappearing (grr) my laptop and tired hands dragging on the mouse pad I think!

Love the drawers, I do have a thing for lots of little drawers but sadly I have nowhere I could put one of these.
Mysterious fruit - was it a success (I hope so) or what is a catastrophe (haven't we all had that from mysterious frozen items!?)
Have a lovely week x

Now that's not at all what I expected to see in those drawers! Still getting a kick out of seeing Justin's screwdriver in your pictures :-)

Am I the only one who is drooling over that jumper? Well, not actually drooling, you understand - wouldn't want to harm this beautiful garment in any way, shape or form. As I am still in throwing out mode, I can only sigh at your library drawers - though my DD managed to buy herself a writing bureau with a drop down lid and little cubby holes in a junk shop this weekend and I've been a tad on the envious side there too. Any news of little E is welcome, of course :).

Oh those drawers are lovely. Is there some kind of organisation magic in the air at the moment? I have just sat and done an order with Lakeland and ordered more storage thingys including a set of drawers (not as big and lovely as yours) but hoping it will make organising the room of doom a little easier!! Hope the crumble turned out alright - I brought out a pack of unidentified something the other day - turned out to be slices of turkey from when I had leftovers from a roast - Mr P stuck them in a sandwich LOL!! I must get better at labelling stuff. Have a good week - I have given you a very late wave today!!

Library drawers sound wonderful. I just might have to search for some for my new larger craft space! :)

Love Ikea storage and these drawers are perfect for wool. I can understand you wanting a set in every room! I hope you enjoyed the unlabelled berries - I have a few bags like that in my freezer too! The jumper is delightful and yes, like Alexa, is it something I could drool over too!
I've been reading Julie's posts with interest and have decided to join in. I need to get back into a routine of blog visiting rather than doing catch ups and wasting time on Facebook. I'm not sure how to post to Pinterest unless there is a button, something I need to work out but I know one (or two?!) ladies who do if I need to ask! Good luck with your 300 comments Sian - you are one of the most committed commenters I know and I really admire and appreciate the time you devote to this. I know others will too. I'm sure 300 in 30 days will be easily achieved by you.

Excuse my comment posting as a reply to Melissa, I couldn't see anywhere else to add my comment! Technical glitch or me being daft - not sure which!

I have 'card catalogue' and 'oh, Sian can get to IKEA' envy.....! Love your new jumper: so lovely, so Autumnal (oh no: Autumn envy too!!)...S has asked for crumble for pudding today....had to chuckle about your unidentifiable frozen berries: my Dad always used to pull 'stuff' out of our freezer and we'd all sit around, wondering what on Earth would be for Sunday dinner...! Little E's costume certainly sounds suitable for Halloween....I wants to be Elsa and I'm just putting the final touches to her dress....however many times I watch the YouTube videos about doing an Elsa-style plait, I can't seem to understand how to do it....must keep trying....! (S wants to be a storm trooper so this'll be the first year I won't have made his costume :( All part and parcel of growing up.....I guess....(sniffling!)

Hi Sian. I have never been to an Ikea store but would love to. I'm afraid I'd get carried away. I like the colors of your yarn. I have never knitted a pair of socks but love sock yarn!
Hugs
