September, come on in! You are my favourite month (though don't tell October..) I love your promise, your offer of a fresh start: if I thought I could find a use for a new pencilcase and a stack of unopened notebooks, I'd be there.
Actually, I do have one new notebook. A polka dot covered Fancy Pants one, which came in my Bits and Pieces kit from Gossamer Blue. I'm still deciding how to make the most of it; but I do have two new pages today, made with my favourite pieces from the beautiful September kits FOUND HERE.
The first is about a little set of crocheted bracelets I made a couple of weeks ago, with instructions from this month's Mollie Makes magazine.
I've been meaning to have a go at these for ages. I even had grand plans to make dozens as a fundraiser, back in January. But it has taken me until now to discover how quick and easy they make up.
To make my page I hand cut the balloons from a Pinkfresh Stdio patterned paper in Add On #1 and tied them at the bottom with a piece of black velvet ribbon, just so that little Crate Paper chipboard bird would have somewhere to rest.
But I wasn't finished with that piece of patterned paper. I couldn't leave it alone! So I turned the rest of it into another, 8.5x11 layout by laying the bit from which I'd cut the balloons over another pattern and covering the join with a little blue Pinkfresh puffy sticker.
We've been colouring here: not patterns or flowers or enchanted forests, but houses, in a book full of city pictures.
It's almost as much fun as cutting and sticking. Almost! It's hard to beat pretty pre patterned paper. From Gossamer Blue.

So lovely. Those floral letters are glorious.
[The bracelets make me think of when a few of my friends decided to learn crochet - I ducked out of the challenge - and one of my friends gave up after only managing a pink string v.similar to your nice bracelets. Ever since then we've referred to it as the time she crocheted an appendix!]
lovely layouts, must have a go at the bracelets.
Oh the colouring book choices are fantastic - it's wonderful that socially it is now acceptable for adults to colour! I would like the colouring book of houses! Hunting for it now. I like your layout about it - uummm scrap lifting that idea! I like the name title of your first page (which is a great page).
Beautiful layouts and I just love the colors on each of them! Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my blog this morning, Sian. xo
I always have two part comments to post, the first is usually about how much I love your layouts ... And yes, I really do, so I'm saying the same again. Then the second is usually how much I love your ideas ... Well this time I love your daughters choice of colouring book! I've not seen that before, but it would certainly be my choice too xxx
Love your layouts---as usual!! But I have to say the "Arm of Charm" title is very clever indeed!!
Two beautiful, fun and whimsical pages! Looks like a great kit! I've been colouring too. I've been doing mandalas but am a little into colour too much. They all come out looking very busy. I'm up to three colouring books now. Time to stop since I have enough pages to last me a lifetime of colouring! It sure is fun!
Wow! Love both your pages. You always have such quirky things to scrap about.....& my favest bit is the balloons on them. Fabulous!!!
Your pages just get better and better---how is that possible; I loved them before! I'd never heard of Pinkfresh Studio until some of that beautiful paper landed here (in smaller format) with the Simon Says Card Kit. LOVE, love the title on the first layout---so clever!
You always beat me to it. I've been making said bracelets but i've not photographed or shared them yet. let alone scrapped them. Arm of charm ....brilliant!! both layouts are fabulous x
That's a clever second page ... first glance made me think of AS revision, but no! Those wee bracelets look very cute and I'm sure they'll be popular with TNSSO and her friends.
I've been colouring too...it's very relaxing but totally all-consuming! Xx
What great layouts! I've been colouring too! Totally addictive!
Oh, what a great colouring book. Love the houses.
Great layouts! I especially like that you used the remainder of that patterned paper & incorporated the cut out space so that it works perfectly. I've been coloring some here, too - in my journaling Bible & in a coloring book of presidents & their wives.
Oh, let's see your bracelets! Mine are very basic
Oh the bracelets look pretty. I like that you've used the bits you've cut out and the negative space. Used to love colouring but haven't bought one of the new books yet.
Oh, Sian....these are absolutely beautiful LO's...absolutely stunningly beautiful. I could (and have) look(ed) at them for hours.....such a treat for the eyes (and soul!)....love the floral letters...(must have a go at making some of those!).....have a lovely weekend....Helen xxxx
Now there's a very clever title to go with that very charming page - you've really showcased this kit so nicely. And I like your trio of handwritten journalling bits too. Oh, and the three poetic word strips on your second page. Colouring books? Hmm, I'm never quite sure why people don't just take a line for a walk and colour in the spaces, but I have clearly quite clearly not got myself plugged into the Zeitgeist!
LOVE your layout! So glad I clicked over from Helen's post at iwillbloom! Subscribing so I can see MORE of your layouts and read more of your posts!
Barbara, thank you :)
Beautiful layouts, so many little bits of interest :)
love love love these!
Lovely layouts. The bracelet one reminded me of making "gimp" bracelets hwen I was young. Welcome to the colouring crowd and of course you got a book of houses! I find it nice and calming to pull out my pencils/markers,pens and colour in.
