Me On Monday

Monday?

Here I am..

...doing my "take a letter" look in my new glasses. I wear contacts most of the time; but I discovered at my last check up that I'd had the same pair of specs for eight years. Quick! Time for a change! These ones got the teenager seal of approval round here, so that was good. She's up next! I wonder what she'll choose?

We found glass of a different variety this weekend, too. If sea glass is what washes up on the beach, then this must be garden glass:

Remnants from a garden underneath our garden. We have quite a collection now.

So it was an all seeing weekend. An End Of Term, heel turning (yes! nearly finished one sock!), laptop battery ordering, Easter egg buying (of course, Little E: I talked to the Easter Bunny), work shirt replacing (now he looks smarter), looking forward kind of a weekend. For next week our boy is home. And that's a weekend to look forward to.

Have a great week! I'm hoping my computer battery arrives soon. If I disappear without warning, you'll know that it hasn't. So I'm waving very quickly..

Last week Deb, Barbara, Helena, Eileen, Jane, Susanne, Ladkyis, Karmacraft, Julia and Gail all shared a little of what has been going on down their way. Give them a wave! Monday on..

Loved your post, Sian. Your line "Our boy is home" gave me a lump in my throat....

Your glasses are so cool! (Great photo of you in them!)....and, wow, what lovely finds from your garden! I always used to find old bottles and clay pipes in a childhood haunt and was always absolutely fascinated by them every time I found one.

More librarian than secretary, I think. Which is as it should be, of course.

You look just like a librarian! Isn't that what you were in a former life? Your garden glass is amazing! I'm always amazed at what you can find when you live somewhere that is centuries old. I'm pretty sure we are the very first to live on this land---although there were Civil War battles all through here. Still, I've never found anything in my garden.

They're so flattering Sian - very nice indeed. and is that a new 8x11.5 album you're cradling there?

As for the garden treasure - I twist wire around things I unearth - then fix them to a chicken wire frame hanging on the garden fence. It kind of brings things out of the dark and into the light of my garden gallery![I might have told you that before?? Didn't you have a chicken wire frame you used for something else??] Anyway ... :-)

Nice glasses! I too have been known to bring my daughter while choosing glasses. It helps to keep up to date. Unfortunately my eyes have been changing almost yearly so there has been way too much glasses buying around here. I love seeing the treasures that you find in your backyard. Have a great week and hope your computer stays functioning for you. Congrats on the sock front!

Pretty neat looking glasses. I too think they are more librarian. Those garden finds look great. Do you do anything with them when you find some? I know we won't find anything in our gardens as this was apple orchards before the houses went in and we're the original owners so....

Looking good in your new glasses! Well done for turning the heel on your sock, I started a sock a couple of years ago but didn't finish it. Maybe I should try again.

Your new glasses really suit you - great choice. Well done with the sock progress. I'm impressed ... it takes all of my concentration to knit a square!

You look very professional in your new glasses and snap! I too have ordered new glasses this week. Swayed by the fact that some were half price! Also making a change to daily contacts so all change.
The glass remnants made me smile. When I was about 5 I spent hours in our new garden with my little brother digging up bits of china. We had a great collection and had visions of sticking it all back together. Alas my mum threw it out! Lots of tears!

Great new glasses! I always end up with a very similar style. Like you, I wear contacts most of the time. Enjoy the anticipation, and especially the visit from the Boy!

I have to say there's the real look of a librarian about you, Sian, in those lovely new glasses! Ah, isn't it nice when we know they are coming home? We are going to have our girl too, though I'm wondering if, now she has hit thirty, I still ought to be using that word :).

You look so young in your new glasses. A great choice of style. I'm a contact wearer too and think I have had my current pair of glasses for 7 years! Maybe it's time for a change.

It's been a hugely busy week here, so just getting round to your Monday post! Love the new specs. Finally got brave about getting something less than plain in the last year or two.
