Pairs: Promise and Delivery

I'm joining in today with Helena's Pairs. The Promise and the Delivery, I'm calling this one:

We may not have made it to Romania, but we stay-at-homes went on a road trip of our own last weekend. We drove around 500 miles, we found a seaside we're sure to go back to, and we stopped in a little place I hadn't seen in nearly 40 years. It was a good journey.

Good to know it lived up to the promise. [I must admit that I don't mind an occasional Guinness myself ... but I can only drink it ... as a shandy! Then I usually drink it too fast and feel like nodding off!]

Your trip sounds just right. It's often 'out of season' seaside visits that are most memorable. xx

p.s: posted off 2 overseas postcards this morning, need to carefully select which ones to send out to which recipient next.

I can't manage Guinness, but am happy to hear you had a good trip. Always fun to explore new places.

Sounds like the perfect kind of trip. And with Guiness involved? Even better!

I'm not a fan of the black stuff at all, but it's a great pairing!

Well I hope that is the first of many just-the-two-of-you trips. I can tell you that it is very addicting, once you get used to it.

Great when it comes off as planned and have a go-back-to place. Guiness, I did when I visited Dublin :-)

Sounds like a fun little adventure of your own. I'm a fan of Guinness, although I can't drink it with food, it's almost a meal in itself. We gave The Mechanic a "Lovely day for a Guinness" glass for Christmas.

Road trips are so much fun---just get in the car and drive with no set plans. I think that's the best way to make new discoveries.

I only like the Guinness sundae that my local 'Irish' pub does. There isn't any beer in it but dark chocolate around the glass and a head of cream make it tasty ;)

So glad y'all had a nice getaway!

This made me smile so much, as it reminded me of the luncheon we all had together.

Great pairing x
I'm not keen on Guinness but your road trip sounds great.

That sounds - and looks - wonderful. I'm guessing you must have crossed a border to get in all that mileage :).

I love Guinness and really enjoyed a tour round the brewery while in Dublin once. I hope you enjoyed your road trip. As much as going abroad can be exciting and different I am also a bit of a stay-at-home lass. There is so much in UK I want to see and do I am quite happy touring here in my campervan! One day we say we will venture to Ireland :)
