One Photo & Twenty Words: The Christmas Food Brochure

Today I'm joining in with Abi's One Photo & Twenty Words. Oh, how I love this one! I like how it puts me on high alert as I go through my day, thinking about winkling out a little story from something going on around me. I like the contrast between this and some of my longer stories which take me back through the years and always make me feel like I need to start with "let's begin at the beginning". I like how a little story can be turned into a good scrapbook page too. And, of course, best of all I like

Why grab this? Because it was raining and now I get to dream of hot roast dinner followed by cake

all the other little stories. It's good to see where twenty words has taken everyone else. And you can find them all right here at Creating Paper Dreams.

Thank you for your sweet words today Sian. I love how many people join in with the meme. It is one of my favourites too. Somehow distilling a story down to just twenty words, brings out exactly what needs to be said.
Your twenty words had my tummy rumbling today!

One of the things I love about following other's blogs is learning and enjoying the cultural differences. I have no idea what hampers are to you, but here, they are a place to put dirty clothes!! I'm going to look it up in the dictionary post haste. I have a lot to learn before I can officially become British!!

Oh golly, are there averts for the C word already? We haven't even had Hallowe'en ... I am glad it gives you happy and mouth watering things to think about!

Reminds me I must think about ordering my turkey and making my cake......

Oh comfort food. We are all getting ready for our Thanksgiving in Canada. We are doing a roast on the BBQ. Less mess than turkey. I'm looking forward to an eventual Pyrex post from you. It really is an addictive collectable. ;)

I caught myself almost buying advent calendars this week - until I gave myself a good talking to 'it's only October - step away from the chocolate'. Brochures, however, are a different thing completely, a girl has to do her preparation for the big day, doesn't she?

I had to smile at Barbara's comment! I suppose its about time we start thinking about christmas....we received an M&S hamper as a present last year and it was gorgeous x

Just like Barbara, the use of the word "hampers" doesn't work for me: dirty laundry and hot roast? To order? Mmmh, the things you learn on Sian's blog ;)

Ohhh. I have been drooling over the Morissons one. It's like food porn! 😁

Mmmm... hot roast dinner And Cake too - Bliss!
It's not that long til you-know-when... I'm making stock for my online shops and trying to get organised to make some cards too.
And Presents are being chosen and squirrelled away in the Basket.

Of course, I might find an excuse for a hot roast dinner before then.

Enjoy your daydreams!

And this reminds me that I need to start thinking about the hamper that I put together for Father in law each year

I love the 20 words posts, it's amazing how full stories can be told in so few words.

Sandie said...

That's a good reason to pick it up Sian. 20 clever words that say much more.

Oh that does sound good! Haven't seen any Christmas dinner brochures out here just yet but then we've only been back 5 days.
