Me On Monday

It was a "my work here is done" kind of weekend. In a way. That's what he said on Friday afternoon as he looked into our emptied fridge, slammed the door shut behind him and headed for the exit. And that's what we said, sort of, on Sunday afternoon, as we hauled the last load of student-alia up the three flights of stairs to his new attic bedroom.

He's high in the sky himself from now on, a place of his own, and I'm so excited to see how his year is going to go. Best of luck, big man!

There was more to it than that, of course. It was a ferry riding, road tripping, John Lewis envying, bagpiping, stair climbing, book carrying, provisions buying, could-I-buy-a-Police Box wondering, Tiger stationery shop discovering, clever car parking (not mine), push me, pull you kind of a weekend. A good one, all the same.

How about you? Fancy giving me a wave on Monday?

Me on Monday: thinking about Sunday

These back to school trips are always ones filled with mixed emotions for the parents at least. Like Ruth, I love the photo of the two of you!

I've had some nice 'what if' dreams about those police boxes too - good to see the desk made it up all the stairs

Oh dear am sat getting butterflies on your behalf! Good luck to him and how fitting that he should be high in the sky too!

My Devvie would kill to have a Tardis *cough* Police Box of her very own ;)

Loved all the pics. He is soooo tall now! May he have a wonderful time this year - and put the desk to good use.

Oh that bitter-sweet moment of seeing them all happily settled in, then waving goodbye. A busy weekend for you all.

Good luck to TTO. I certainly loved my year living out, incidentally in an attic room too! Love that photo of shifting furniture too! My parents often bemoan the fact that I always land myself with the room which is up at least one flight of stairs. Much heaving of suitcases follows!

Awww...that back view photo is a corker & so is his view. How EXCITING!!!! Much more than ours. Which was a hunker down cos its raining pouring & yes, my Old Man WAS snoring in front of the tele weekend. We won't mention the rugby. Boring......!!!!

Love that photo of the two of you. As soon as I read the words, "three flights of stairs" and "attic bedroom", I thought 'ooh, TTO is high in the sky now too!' Fair play to them managing that desk up all those steps and into its new home.

So glad The Desk has made it safely to its new and lofty abode... I had an attic room as a student overlooking similar-looking rooftops and am full of nostalgia :). Hoping he has as brilliant a time as I did. An exciting week to be where he is - hope he's keeping a diary!

Love the photo of you both. How I hate the start of this term after a summer together.

Ah, people sometimes tell me, thinking out loud, "how can a tiny girl like you have such a big boy like that" and that's the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw your photo, which I love :) I hope the newly settled boy enjoys his place high in the sky as much as you do yours ;)

This post actually made me tear up! I love the photo of you with your "all grown up" son. It just reminds me of how quickly time goes by. My little grand we just dropped off is struggling with being away. I'm praying it gets better for her. In the mean time, it's so exciting to see your "baby" settled! And I LOVE that view!

Oh I like that photo of the two of you. How nice that he is high in the sky too - you can look out your window and think of him looking out of his. We're off to take Princess soon. Amadeus is also up high and away already.
