Me On Monday

So here's the thing about Me on Monday....mmm, no, maybe there are two things. The first, and more important, is that several of you have wondered if you could post your own Me on Monday. Yes! Please! Definitely! You'd be very welcome. It's a quick way to see the blogging week off to a start; and it can be surprisingly useful for the record keepers among us. (Everybody, then?). I've discovered that trying to sum up my weekend in words or phrases, and not sentences, brings the most important things to the top. It filters, it highlights, it illuminates, it distils.

But it's also just plain good fun. Which brings me to my second thing: my photograph. I'm hoping that if I think about taking a picture every Monday I'll end up with more Sian photos to scrapbook. BUT of course  it has only taken me all of two weeks to work out that I wear pretty much the same thing every Monday. (Makes sense, I do pretty much the same jobs every Monday). Today I'm looking like this

Yep, another stripey top, this time a tunic. That's why my quick thinking daughter decided catching me putting away a different outfit would be a smart move. It's the dress I wore to the end-of-term dance display on Friday night.

Yes, it was a dance display watching, reading in the garden (at last! dullest May on record here), bbq-ing, World Cup football sticker collecting, new vacuum cleaner buying, music revising, work shoes shopping, Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt starting (see Rinda's blog here for more details), dental crown crunching, Orlando guidebook studying kind of weekend

and if the sun stays this week maybe I won't need to make use of my new favourite buy (look away now Little E because it's really meant for you)

That's me this Monday. How about you?

With thanks to Julie for including Me on Monday in that amazing free, packed to bursting (er, maybe I should think of a better phrase?)  resource known as Push Up Bra Blogging

I'm so happy you decided to invite the rest of us to join in. Mine's here http://debs14.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/me-on-monday-1.html

What a glorious blue that dress is! That colour goes so beautifully with red/auburn hair - I'm guessing you are going to love wearing that dress a lot!
An indoor beach? What a brilliant idea. I'll just dust off my flip flops and find my bucket and spade and I'll be round as soon as I can ;-)

Aw, no problem at all. Thank you for the 'shout out' as the young folk say ...

Don't like the sound of the crown crunching ... much prefer the guidebook studying. I hope you've found some things to look forward to.

Have a lovely new week. x

ooh Orlando Guidebook studying..that's what i'd like to be doing, especially if i was planning a trip. Me on a Monday sounds like fun...only I work on Mondays (and i'm back this week!) and won't find the time to join in. Maybe you can change the day around occasionally x

It was a dance show watching weekend here too. Me on a Monday is a great idea - which I may use when I finally find my way back to my blog (its a work in progress).

What an interesting idea. I'm not sure how I didn't notice that you "me on Monday" was recurring! Color me unobservant. I'll definitely play along now and then.

Sounds like an exciting holiday is coming up....more fun than the crown crunching....or revision.

To be fair you did say on my blog post about clothing that you like stripy tops lol. But I must say that's a stunning blue :)

I love stripes too Sian, and I am sure some people think I wear the same top very often! If they looked close enough they'd see I have several that are similar ;)
I love this weekly post and am glad others are starting to join in. My weekend was a bit boring - paper clearing and sorting. It has to be done :(

It sounds wonderful, and I'm jealous of your indoor beach, as I am definitely missing the sand between my toes today.

PS I often wear the same things on Monday too. That would be my baggiest capris because I've often ignored my diet on the weekends.

Mondays are "catch-up" days around here. Usually they are no fun and just a lot of work. That's why I started "Movie Mondays" with my friends. Now I'm motivated to get my work out of the way early so I can "play" with my friends. If I was staying home all day, I would be in the same work clothes every Monday.

Mondays are typically my stay-at-home, laundry, bill paying days, so I'm often in the same things, too. Although today I had to get out for a meeting about my new part-time job! :>)

You know, I have never heard of an indoor sandpit! How big is it? Little E's mum might start shaking her head at Aunty Sian! ;)

I love that blue of the dress and I too love stripes.
I love the idea of Me on Monday a direct way for everyone to communicate with what they have been up to or are planning to do.

Fun to see the outfit - gorgeous colour blue. Doing my Monday roundup did lead to me ensuring I wore different outfits on occasion at least. Although I tend to fall back on my black sleeveless t-shirt - but I own a dozen or so ;)

Sounds like you had a varied weekend, love the indoor beach :)

I like the idea if taking a photo of yourself every week. I do struggle to find photos I like enough to yes even though I take a lot of selfies!

I did notice the similar shirts! especially since my feedly view is displaying this week's "Me on Monday" post directly over top of last week's. I will be watching these posts with more interest now that I know you are planning selfies for at least some of them. It will fun to see what you are up to!

It all sounded great until I got to the dental crown crushing part! LOL. Fun post, Sian, and I love the looks of that indoor beach. I recently saw a "recipe" for wet sand that can be used for indoor beach activities. Sounds really interesting. Have a great week! xo

I own one of those indoor sandpits.

You are a brave woman.

Keep the vacuum cleaner nearby. :)

They say anticipation of a trip is nearly as rewarding as the trip itself. I love reading guide books in preparation for travel, and it sounds like you have something to look forward to. Nothing that exciting happening here this summer!

You are always inspiring, no wonder this idea is taking off :)

Crown crunching? That doesn't sound great! The rest of the weekend sounds like it was nice and restful - love days when you can sit outside and read. Love that shade of blue.

Crown crunching? Ouch! Hope it is sorted now :)
