Me on Monday

It's Monday and here I am, dressed for a day of jobs round the house:

It's cold enough today to need a sweater and it's wet enough to jump up pretty quickly after sitting on that tarmac.

It was a son hugging, stuff unpacking, student washing doing, TV movie watching, chicken pox admiring (yep - Little E facetimed me his pox), tuna melt eating, student washing doing (oh, did I say that twice? wonder why that would be?), Monaco Grand Prix enjoying, Sunday night driving, rum n raisin icecream shop finding, termtime story hearing, retro reading kind of weekend.

Retro reading? Granny has been sorting out her shelves and she offered me these a few weeks ago

I always think of crochet in the 70's. Looks like it was good for the 80's too. At least in our house.

Get Well Soon Little E! And let's see what this week is going to bring.

Love the photo of you, already for the week ahead. Sounds like a busy weekend; hope Little E is recovering quickly. We spent our weekend moving, sorting, and unpacking. Today is a holiday here and we hope to get our vegetable garden in.

Since it's a holiday weekend here, it isn't over yet. But, the family has left, so I'm looking forward to some quiet. I'm planning to do some reading. My best to Little E--I hope he recovers quickly!

Loving the stripes. A stylish way to battle this strange changeable weather! After almost getting sunburned last Sunday I had to resort to putting the heating on a few times last week!

Wishing Little E well ... although, he's never one to miss a good storytelling opportunity is he? Wonder where he got that trait from .... x

Loving the portrait! Taken by a great photographer or with a timer I wonder... Wishing little E a quick recovery and remind him not to scratch! :)
I bet you didn't mind doing all that laundry ;)

Do you know what I loved most about this post??? Yup, that photo of you. Its always nice to see the real you, in the flesh so to speak and not on a layout or something like that. More please (well, when its dry enough to sit on the ground lol)

OH those sweaters are just fabulous. Now I am wishing I could have a go at making one of those.

Still busy with the baby blankets at the moment

Get well soon Little E! Lovely to see an up to date picture of you - maybe we should have a Me on Monday blog hop sometime (but give me fair warning so hair and make up can be done, at my age I need all the help I can get!)
A crocheted sweater in a weekend? And there was me thinking I'd done well doing one granny square ... Obviously I need to keep practising to get my speed up.
Enjoy having your boy back.

Sounds like a busy weekend! Robbie's off for Memorial Day today, so our relaxing around the house, movie going, walking weekend is still on!

sounds a great weekend and I agree crochet always makes me think retro - probably one reason I like it so much

I was hoping that the washing would ease up when they got bigger! A rare shot of you from behind the camera!

Lovely to 'see' you! Sounds like a good one there, even with the washing and the pox. Have a great week, but maybe think carefully before crocheting one of those sweaters ;-)

Stripey tops, jeans and Converse is pretty much my 'every day jobs' uniform too! Although I'm usually barefoot while actually in the house. If I was there I'd whip my picnic rug out of the boot and we could sit and chat awhile. Enjoy having your boy home for the holidays.

I couldn't sit down outside right now as it's pouring ... but, you do look ready for the week ahead!

Oh the dreaded pox - hope he's not too scratchy and doesn't have to have those yukky pinetarsol baths, I, unfortunately, remember those all too well!

Those magazines bring back memories for me of the Sixities, when my Mum crocheted me a poncho - perhaps there's crochet lurking in every decade even if unobtrusively. You look very calm and sorted despite the busyness - sorry to hear about little E. Calamine lotion is what I remember most ...

Nice to see a photo of you. I'm still stubbornly in short sleeves and shorts, but have had to pull on a hoodie a couple of times. Hope Little E's pox is only a nuisance and he recovers quickly.

Great to see a pic of you x
Our weather here is no better & I'm taking dressing in layers to extremes as the barometer swings!!
Is the Son back till autumn ? we still have a good few weeks to go before we empty student halls for summer!

I loved this format and so I borrowed it for my bank holiday post... http://melgetsscrappy.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/our-bank-holiday-looked-like-this.html

Love the photo! Sounds like a busy weekend. I loved crochet in the 70's - sweater vests, ponchos, mini-skirts... pretty sure my Mom had me dressed totally in style.

hoping Little E is pox free soon, that your week ahead is calm and productive. I am nursing a horrible sore throat! I'll not be up to much this week x

Aw. Poor little E, but good for him to get them over with and be done with chicken pox once and for all. Sounds like you had a busy weekend - hope you made it through all that laundry! That photo of you is super cute - can't wait to see it on a layout. :o) Have a great week, Sian!

Hope little E is feeling much better. It's done nothing but rain..every day, all day...here this week x

Enjoyed hearing your status quo for the first of the week - I can relate to the double laundry thing - we're just back from vacay - so I've missed two laundry days myself.

I can't think of anything better on a weekend than paging my way through a collection of hobby books or magazines. No matter how many times I've looked at them, it seems I see something that I hadn't noticed before.

Love the photo of you! I had to laugh at laundry showing up twice in your account of the weekend. Hope Little E is much better now. I remember when I was growing up and anyone came down with things like that all the other kids on the street got sent to visit so we'd all be over them while young.
