Me on Monday

It's Monday morning here and that might be enough to leave a girl feeling blue

But, then again, maybe not. I got lots of baby blanket knitting done over the weekend. This one is in Sirdar Baby Crofter (shade Scottie 152). I think it would make a lovely knitted bag, too. Or, maybe not a whole sweater, but the sleeves with a denim blue front and back?

It was a

roast pork eating, toasted cheese sandwich munching, garden furniture scrubbing, Wallander watching, umbrella carrying, chocolate milk chugging, dance display hat fixing, driving out into the country, cow photographing, History studying, Fargo enjoying

kind of weekend. And just before I went to bed last night I made a start on another blanket so Monday would have a bit of cheer.

This one is Baby Crofter (shade Hazel 177): birds egg colours, for a baby in a nest. I took it upstairs to try to get some light for a picture and I ended up in the room of the student who'll be returning for the summer this week. His dad is going to get him on Wednesday. Road trip! The girls are staying home due to the unavoidable inconvenience of several GCSE exams. It's quite a big week.

And that's me, this Monday. How are you?

Those blankets look so lovely, makes me want to just lift them up and put them against my face!

Mine was an anniversary celebrating weekend so I need to catch up with the Wallander watching. I was out eating lobster, seabass and rice pudding [not in the same dish] at the time.

Happy travels to your road trippers! x

I've got an exam grading, art creating, research paper writing, and thinking about the kids' summer kind of week coming up. Looking forward to it, but it will require a bit of self discipline. LUckily, I feel up to the challenge.

We were inspecting No.1 Son's new house ... a home-owning (well mortgage paying for now) "child"!!! WOW I feel old. Also A&E and Japanese drummers ... never a dull moment! Good luck with the exams and getting your house full again!

Missed Wallander ... but caught Fargo ... good job we can catch-up!

Sounds like a lovely weekend:) I'm with you on the Fargo and Walkender watching.....have you tried Hinterland? A welsh drama with a Nordic noir vibe. Teen home for the summer already? Not sure when ours is making an appear thence...

It sounds like a very satisfying Monday to me. Don't you wish they could all be that way? Maybe there are.

Umbrellas? Sorry to read that :(. Gosh, we had wall to wall sunshine up here, which is most unusual for us ... Welcome back to TTO for the summer, once he and his Dad have out the world to rights on the way home. Warmest good wishes to the Not So Small One for those blooming exams. Hoping a bit of that lovely soft knitting will settle your nerves; or perhaps you are really calm? I was, until my DDs best friend called at the door at 8.30 one morning and my DD was still in bed, having thought erroneously that her history exam was in the afternoon ...

The colours of your knitting are beautiful, so soft looking.
I was out this evening for craft & chatter, we were in my friends conservatory when the storm started, thunder, fork lightning, rain coming down like stair rods! I am hoping for a quieter day tomorrow. Good luck with the exams TSO.

Mondays are always hectic around here so it was lovely to spot your blankets. Do feel that the rhythm of knitting or crocheting or sewing is such a blessing, productive but relaxing too.

That yarn just looks so gorgeous the way it knits up. I love the subdued colours of it. We had a 3 day weekend and with all the chores that needed doing it seemed to be a relaxing one instead with some clothes/shoe shopping, a skype chat with John's sister and some trip planning for this fall's trip.

Great blanket - I do like these "striped" yarns, you can get such interesting effects. I'm just finishing a dolls' dress, which I crocheted in plain and self-striping cotton yarns (photos will be published in due course!). Do show us some finished project photos of your blankets? I would love to see them!

Our boy is part-way through his second week of GCSE's also. He's at school just now, part way through the second exam of the day (RS #2). Tomorrow he has none, but will go up to school on the bus, to have his two instrument lessons (which his teachers have kindly moved to the very start of the day), then I will collect him. There are 2 more exams this week... then 8 in the three weeks after half term break (spread out so much - when I did "O" levels, it was wall-to-wall exams for two solid weeks, plus quite a few in week 3... things do change.
I wish your young lady much luck with her own GCSE's - is it all of them this year, or is she taking a few a year early (can't remember which school year she is in!)?
Anyway... must stop waffling and get on - only a short lunch break allowed today! X

Just catching up on some posts and I just LOVE your knitted blankets. The colours are so soft and beautiful and that first picture with the little car is divine! I've gotten right back into crochet recently having some free time due to being on the job hunt once again (sad face) but it's good to have some crafty things to keep me occupied. Good luck to TNSSO with the exams :) xx

Having a catch up and now it is Wednesday! I hope your boys enjoy their road trip. I'm feeling your (and the TNSSO's) pain. Exam season grinds on here. That wool is some sort of miracle. So clever.

Sounds like you had a great weekend. I love that Hazel wool, such warm colours :)

Your blankets are so lovely!! We had a relaxing, exercise walking, puttering around the house, grilling out kind of weekend here . . . and I had it all planned out that I could do some scrapping and other things around the house while I listened to Lain Ehmann's 2-days at Creative Live on Monday & Tuesday. Now it's Wednesday and I'm searching around for some mojo! :>)
