This isn't the page I started out to make. It turned into a different layout as soon as I realised that my plan of playing about with navy and white wasn't going to work with the photo I'd chosen. So, new photo, new page.
The photo? You may have seen it before: it's that one of me in the bat wing sweater with the sleeves that catch on door handles. The colour combination? I think you'll be seeing it again. Navy and white..it just feels right!
You can just see a little snatch of paper layers here. Vellum seems to be having a moment, doesn't it? I don't have any vellum; but I do have a block of tracing paper which looks very similar, so I used some pieces of that. When I get a chance I'm going to try cutting a few Slice shapes from it. Mightn't be sturdy enough, but I'll never know unless I give it a go.
Before I go today I want to say how good, very good, it was to read about your "forever" views" after Tuesday's post. Interesting to see how many of you picked views close to home! Ladkyis has blogged about hers here - it certainly is a beautiful spot. Thank you for letting us in on it! Anyone else dare to share?

Interesting that you started with a colour scheme and had to swap the photo ... but I have to agree that loose sleeve, let alone bat wings, *do* catch on things. DD punched through BOTH sides of a fairly new and much loved sweatshirt sleeve recently - thank goodness I can darn!
I find it difficult to do a layout with set colors--such as your navy and white. I may start that way but I soon start adding more colors.
i adore your placement of it all :) so simple and beautiful :)
Yes, I do love the navy and white, so crisp and clean. I've never cut vellum with my Slice, so will be curious to hear your results.
Navy & White is a stunning combo, it reminds me of my mother as she often wore it, with her white hair it really suited her perfectly. This is a superb LO and yes I remember that photo too.
Great page. I love these little moments of life that you capture. Thanks for the idea of using tracing paper in lieu of vellum. I've got a whole stack of it sitting here and never thought of using it that way.
Just had a lovely catch up with your goings on!
Navy and white is a super cool combo ... but bat wings are never for me!
Navy & white is so classic & I love any monochrome combination! I so know where you're coming from with the 'catching on door handles' theme...but for me it's the pocket of a favourite cardi that is always stopping me in my tracks!! I actually prefer tracing paper to vellum as a medium for printing on & cutting in my Cameo...it's crisper somehow!! :D
This page is stunning! Love the white space and those feathers are beautiful. Yes, vellum does seem to have made a comeback. I went on the search for some a few months back. I love your idea of die cutting it!
To the bat cave with those i think...
Those spots of teal really make the whole page 'pop'. Love how all those small elements don't take anything away from the white space. Maybe it's your use of white lettering for your title? Really lovely.
I love navy and white....or even navy and cream.....like my new cardi.
I must admit I nearly always start with my photo and then choose the papers.
Love the light bulb.

p.s. I love how you started this meme. It's cool to read unplanned memes that take off.
Navy and white are so fresh! I bought a great new sweater set this summer that is navy and white. You'll see it pop up in photos eventually.
Beautiful layout, so crisp with the white & just the right touch of navy.
Love those turquoise splodges with the navy and white too. Feeling a bit doh! now - I've just sent off to charity a batwing-sleeved cardi because it made reaching for things high up really difficult! Perhaps I should have persisted. :)
I love the navy and white on this layout and as an unplanned lo it is a stunner.
you have definitely captured the concept of positive and negative space in this layout. striking!
Navy and white is such a clean, classic pairing :) I have a hard time limiting myself to 2 colors for a layout. I'm catching up on reading and I do it in reverse so am excited to see what you have inspired in others now ;)
I love navy and white. I also love bat wing jumpers! they are so great for winter. I like the use of feathers. They seem to be really popular and I love the look of them but never knew how to use them- you have inspired me!
Excellent job with this! I have such a hard time working with white as anything other than background.
Love this layout. I agree that navy and white is lovely.
Love navy and white together. I've never tried having a set colour combo first, I'll have to give it a go. As for the vellum maybe it would work if you stuck it down temporarily to some cardstock and then tried the Slice on it.
Love the layers and your comment about tracing paper made me smile. Back in the day when I started scrapbooking... we couldn't get vellum so my friend and I used tracing paper, watercolour paper, stamped, did things and were SO impressed when patterned papers appeared :)
I'm a big fan of vellum / tracing paper - did you manage to cut it on the slice? I managed to stamp and heat emboss on it and it looks fab.
