One of the best bits of fun we had last summer - all summer - was hunting out photos for Rinda's Scavenger Hunt. Everyone here cheered when a new list came out for this year. And our hunt became more exciting when we could scavenge in person with Rinda. We had the pleasure of spending a day with Rinda and her lovely family at the end of June. Little did any of us know, then, the challenges they were to face in the weeks ahead. Paul, Rinda, Henry, Clara - we're right behind you. Every time we take a picture we're thinking about you and willing Paul back to full health. Get well and get back here..we've got lots more to show you

Historical Landmark: This lovely red brick building is known as The Drawing Office and it was here that the Titanic was designed. The engineers stood at those windows and looked out over the shipyard and thought about their plans
Library: This is the Linenhall Library. It was founded in 1788 and it's the last subscription library in the country - and it is for that reason that I decided not to crop the modern day "cash sign" in the left of my picture. It stands in town sandwiched between bits of twenty first century life. I did some of my work experience here when I was a library student.

I was shocked when Rinda told us about Paul, she and her family are never far from my thoughts and I am glad that they had such a wonderful time with your family over the summer break.
Your photographic subjects are both interesting and beautiful.

Both great shots and interesting to learn a little of the history too. I'm looking forward to hopping round as and when I have a few minutes to spare throughout today :o)
Ooooh on the Titanic link - I have a small nephew who is mad on all things Titanic.
Ah - glad to have a theme for and looking forward to tomorrow. Doesn't really go with the story I've written but hey....:^)

Wonderful to see those photos, Sian, especially the top one. My father has mentioned it to me, as he was in and out of it during his stint for Short Bros and Harland during the war... Like the tilting library too!

Now you've gone and made me all teary and welled up! Thanks so much for your loving thoughts. We're hanging in there. Paul starts another round of chemotherapy on Monday, and this one is supposed to be more intense. Which is a shame because he's basically felt pretty fit for the last couple weeks. We're keeping out fingers crossed that it's not too bad.

That building is lovely, that is what I miss about the UK, all the old buildings. NZ doesn't have history like other places, they just seem so happy to knock things down and start again!!

IT's one of the reason's I'm really enjoying having Rinda's list to tick off - it gives you a great excuse to take photos [and tell a tale or two] of things you may not otherwise have found a reason to share. Nice snippets of your life!
