I bought a new Design Card for my Slice the other day. International Travel. And now I'm obsessed with cutting camera shapes. The first thing I usually do with a new card is take some scrap paper and cut my favourite shapes in every available size. Often they turn out much bigger or smaller than I had expected and it's useful to mark a size on my samples and hold onto them for reference.
Once I'd done that, I made some cards. As simple as they come, just the die cuts and some little 4x4's. It was fun to play with scale, though, and see how I liked the bigger and smaller shapes. And keeping the front plain helps me think more about what i'm going to write inside.
You can see that I choose summery colours and added a bit of a golden haze to my photo - I'm pretending that the sun is shining here.
Using up some really old rubons, too: sharper looking than my stamping. Though I am looking out for a nice set of greetings stamps if anyone has any suggestions?
Many thanks to everyone who left a comment on Monday's post. It's especially grand to hear from a few new contributors! Seems like we all have as many ways of reading and enjoying blogs as we have of blogging ourselves. Long may it continue.

I love the simplicity of these cards,Sian.
We actually do have sun here today....which is a bit of a shock!!
Stampin Up do some great sets of greetings stamps....but you can only buy from their 'reps'.....though Ebay might throw some up.
A UK company that has some nice ones is Liliofthevalley.co.uk.
Lovely cards Sian and suitable for many occasions. I love the stitching under the bike.
Helen has just blogged about buying some sentiments stamps. Are they the sort of thing you're after?
I love these simple cards! Enjoy your new die cut! :)
Simple but styllish - I too like doing fairly plain as I can always dress them up before writing/sending if necessary.
Glad you got a bit of time to craft and hopefully are feeling better.
Back to rain here with added thunder :o(
Lovely use of your slice there - and the rub-ons - I must use some more of mine before they die!
love your cards and the cameras are fab! Good luck finding stamps I seem to find sets where I love one but don't really want the other sentiments/images!
I'm really liking the clean look at the moment and these cards are great. Saw a big yellow globe in the sky today...wasn't sure what it was but I liked it:)
oh Sian, these are perfect. i found an old camera die shape a few days ago and wondered if i'd be able to draw around it and cut out to make some more....now i'm thinking i need a slice lol!
These are so fresh and I do love the scooter. I am also a fan of stampin up and have booked a party (a friend of my sisters as it happens!) for the end of the month in the hope to buy some nice saying stamps....i'll let you know how i get on.
the sun is shinning here today..yay....
I had just been thinking what lovely stamps you had used!
Alison xx
I love these. Especially the cute camera ones. Simple and elegant. X
What very simple but pretty cards :)
No sun here, but at least it was dry!
I absolutely adore these clean and simple cards Sian! I am getting more and more convinced that I need an electronic cutting machine...
Ooh that looks like a great design card to have, the cards look lovely.
Great, great cards Sian. I am having fun playing with my new cutter to make life easier!. I am intrigued by your reference to monday's post. I have had a busy couple of days and have saved my reader for tonight. It is in reverse so it's coming up for me :D
I am pretending there is golden haze here too!
Because I am such an adept stamper, I feel I can comment with great authority ... hehehehehe, actually, I bought some stamps for exactly the same reason as yourself and would have to say that the Stampin' Up products are of a high quality.
i'm in love with the camera shapes!!!!
Fantastic cards, I love the kraft one. I've now added that design card to my wishlist! x
Lovely cards. I admire how your simple cards always have such elegance!
ok - you know, I've been meaning to tell you the parrot did me in...BUT there is a story to that! And.... Amazon.com sent me an email this morning just after I read your post, asking if I was looking for a Slice!
I absolutely love your cameras and the cards are adorable. I have my name down for Tim's camera die cut - but of course that is only ONE size!
Everyone is right, I have lots of Stampin up stuff and they have wonderful greeting stamps (I prefer the wood over the acrylic).
I love these cards!
I haven't looked at new Slice products in a long time since I now have the Silhouette, but those camera designs are calling to me. Love these CAS cards!
I love that camera shape and the scooter too :o) They work so well paired with a simple greeting. I was pleased to see a few shout outs for SU stamps among your comments. My favourites are Curly Cute if I want a larger greeting and Teeny Tiny Wishes, which has 24 sentiments and covers most eventualities! In the spirit of fairness (and if you prefer clear acrylic) I also like Waltzing Mouse stamps xx
That is a great tip on cutting shapes. You are right, they never come out quite the size I expect. I've already cut templates with all my Nestabilities dies and really should do the same with my Slice cards. Anything to remind me to use my Slice more often is a good thing!
I really like the caravan.

These are gorgeous Sian...what a great camera shape!! I'm catching up after my hols & this was a very good place to start!! :D
Sometimes less is more. These are lovely.
Simple and stunning Sian, I love the colours too. Weather here in North London is grim grey and wet :-(
Love the look of your cards and now you've got me looking for that new slice card. :)
