Totally Tagged

Wasn't that a fantastic Storytelling Sunday? 48 of you with a tale to tell! (..and there's still time to join in if you have one in mind..). Every month it feels like a privilege to be yarning along with you all. Thank you.

But today? Today I'm using up scraps

with a page inspired by a sheet of patterned paper. Have you seen Bazzill's Wayfarer collection? It includes one design with a row of labels and motifs printed  down the right hand side. That looks neat, I thought when I spotted it; and I took the look and "Sliced it".

I cut a selection of tags and labels from the remnants of April's Gotta Craft kit, added a little bit of stamping (I'm making myself learn!) and a mini clothes peg to make a quick page about my flowery peg bag. Everyone here is glad to see the pegbag appear at this time of year - I refuse to have a tumble drier and so we spend the winter with clothes hanging off radiators..

I think this is going to be one of those designs I'll come back to again and again. It even feels like the kind of layout I could make in advance - with a neutral background and lots of colours in the tags it could suit lots of different photos. Oh, yes.

Happy Tuesday! The rain has stopped here and the laundry is going outside. I hope you have sunshine today too.

Love your layout---especially all the tags down the side. I need to remember that! And your word "peg" for what we call "pin." I get an education from your blog too--an added bonus!

Lovely bright spring layout - I love the stack of tags up the side and intend to give it a go

totally agree with you about no tumble dryer

Ours is another no-tumble-dryer household [and I've made a page about the joys of 'pegging out' too!].

There's nothing quite like clutching line-dried laundry to your nose is there? [Surely not just me?]

Yours is a lovely spring-y layout -hopefully that's reflected in the weather today ...

Love that phrase "yarning along". Have enjoyed reading the stories - many which prompt my own. Love you vibrant colours - can we have some weather to match now please?

I love pegging out the washing & have been frustrated by this years non-drying weather so far!! BUT I do have a tumble drier! In winter I hate having damp washing on the radiators! I hang non-tumbleable wet clothes onto a clothes horse in the spare bedroom & then finish it off in the airing cupboard, but bedlinen, boys underwear & jeans all get tumbled!! I make no apology...sorry!!!! :D

p.s...I got so carried away there I forgot to say how stunning that LO is & if you don't mind, that tag technique is one I'd love to lift on a LO soon!! :D

I agree. The smell of fresh laundry brought indoors from the line is one of my favourite things! Lovely page and the tag idea is great. May try and do a digital one...

I agree that it would suit such a variety of layouts....even before you choose a photo....something I almost never do....maybe I'll give it a try with this inspiration.
We don't have a tumble drier either....and it's so wet here....we're still drying over radiators!!!

We do have a tumbler but try whenever possible to dry naturally (much shrinkage occurs when tumbled) So I'm looking down the length of this living room/dining room and every radiator is covered with clothes. Feels like it's been raining forever here! :D

Great page, I'm loving all those tags.

Pretty page Sian. I have that paper about which you speak and hoping I can find a topic that will work well with it. And I'm still working way my through Sunday's stories, I'm only at about #10 - but it's nice to make it last a good part of the week.

NIce border treatment!
I'm totally feeling the scrapbook bug coming on - don't know why.

Nice idea Sian...and I must say that one of the perks about living here is that there are very few non-outdoor-drying days!

A wonderful LO made out of scrap! A terrific design too! No dryer!!! Wow, here everyone uses dryers along with all of the energy they suck up! They even often have by-laws saying you can't dry outdoors because of the look of it. So crazy and not very green. I used to love drying outdoors in my house many years ago. I had an amazing umbrella dryer and the sheets smelled soooo good! :)

I love your layouts - you really inspire me! I am determined to join in next storytelling Sunday :) We are enjoying a bit of sunshine too! Enjoy yours x

Lovely Sian - very Spring-time! I like the balance of the floral l/h border and the flags and tags on the r/h border.
I would like a new peg bag. I've been looking, but can't find a nice one. Mine has holes and will soon fall apart (well it must be 20+ years old...).
Washing on the line today. Four loads so far... making the most of the dry day, as tomorrow it will rain (how unusual!)

I love this page! We're not allowed to hang clothes outside to dry at our condo complex but I intend to challenge the rule at our annual meeting this Monday. Clothes dryers use so much energy and we should all be trying to cut down on that.

Gorgeous layout, Sian! I love that row of tags - it would work well on a card, too. Looks like you've inspired lots of people!

Great layout Sian. Yes, I pegged out today although the sky was a bit black.....dried as well:)

I love this layout Sian and shall probably work on a scraplift of sorts at some time if that is ok? I've only had the washing out once so far this year - the weather here is so bad all the time at the moment, especially with working 5 days a week!

I love this page and the details on the side!!! Genius design!!! Did you know that most housing communities here in California prohibit hanging your clothes outside on clothes lines? Crazy huh!!!

Sue Althouse said...

Oh yes, that design is completely wonderful! Love anything that allows for plenty of color and pattern without being overwhelming. Perfection. And I'm among those who cannot hang clothes outside to dry. Sad.

We are tumble dryer free here too, and for the most part we cope, but of course, just when you want to dry towels and bed linen it rains and we have things everywhere!

Sian said...

Nathalie, yes! When my brother was living in Los Angeles, he was really shocked by this rule. Why not use all that glorious sunshine?

What a fabulous idea to add color to any layout!

That's a nifty idea, Sian - a page all prepared just awaiting photos and journalling ...

That's wonderful Sian! I wish I could live without my tumbler but I just love it so much in this weather. With 2 muck magnets it is particularly hard but I do love a pretty peg bag!

Such a pretty layout - and I love the idea of having a few backgrounds prepared for some quick pages.

This really is one of my fav layouts

Oh how fun - and whilst I've not seen the paper that is a design I've used a lot especially for mini albums. Where you want to use a set of papers a bit on each page? A load of tags plus a couple of longer ones for grounding your photos is easy to put together in advance and then put the photos on later.

Love stamping - looking forward to having my craft area redone so I can access the stamps more easily.

Beautiful page on a subject that we wouldn't necessarily scrap about.

We have a tumble - only used on rare occasions, usually when airer and radiators full. A love a line full of clean washing.....especially whites. Think it reminds me of when the boys were smaller xx
