My Month in Numbers - May

Last day of May? It's my Month in Numbers! I'm counting along with the excellent Julie of Notes on Paper (and you can find out more here)

Our May has felt like a month for hard work at the office. This is how the numbers stack up:

14 - When she was little, she says, 14 is the age she dreamed about. It sounded like a good age to be. Well now she has arrived and it's working out just fine. She has long legs, a wicked sense of humour and she can do things with chemical equations that I could only ever dream about.

5 - lovely invitations for guest posts and other fun stuff. I'm sorry I had to turn one down because I won't be around, but the others are in production.

4 - days I have been able to eat my lunch outside. That's momentous by weather standards round here

1- happy surprise late Christmas present from friends.

148 - slugs captured in 24 hours in the garden. (Thank you for the suggestions on Tuesday - we'll be trying all of them).

140 - stitches which still need picked up along the front band of a cardigan I've been trying to finish for months now. I hope this number won't be appearing again next month.

Plus, revision, exams, driving lessons, late nights at the office..and..

1 - new word from Little E. It's hoover-related. You have been warned. So if you have a hoover and a carpet shampooer and you keep them both in the same cupboard then you do a lot of ...shampoovering . Yes. Little E I guess I do.

Roll on June!

I used new October Afternoon this month for a work related page. Tags again as I've done before but this time with journalling card pockets so I could squeeze more in  (and even hide a thing or two). I wonder what theme next month will suggest..

Don't forget - Storytelling Sunday this weekend! I have a Jubilee story planned how about you? Something about anniversaries maybe? or meeting the queen? whatver yu choose I'm sure it'll be - diamond.

Fab numbers Sian and displayed on your layout beautifully.

My layout is still a WIP! Have my story ready for STS though x

Your weren't kidding when you said you had slugs!
Little E is a wordsmith - I like his way of thinking!

I have a good story about the Silver Jubilee all ready to go on Sunday.

I read your numbers every month and make myself stay away. I am a compulsive counter so it would not be good to encourage me

I love Little E's new word! Isn't it great what the little ones come out with :)

That sounds like a bit of a dent in the slug population!!

Ew to the slugs. Advantages of having a paved yard - no slugs. But copious amounts of ants!

One I didn't have time to fit in: 5 = the number of pea plants the slugs ate over night. [James not happy!] So I think he might be tempted to launch war on them too.

Thanks for sharing your numbers + your world again Sian. I've added you to the board now: http://pinterest.com/notesonpaper/my-month-in-numbers/

I hope 14 continues to be amazing and it's good to see more content for the Little Book of Little E.

your business-y page is so cute! numbers are fun ways to define the days - my nephew turns 11 tomorrow and the forecast, he was tickled to learn, is saying it will be 111 degrees!

Another lovely page to record your month! Fourteen does seem like a good age to be.

I've just finished prepping my post for Storytelling Sunday - a completed mini-album & a story about Robbie's grandparents (including Robbie's journaling!). Can't wait to read all the stories.

Perfect paper choice for your numbers this month! And I do hope the slug number declines dramatically - ugh!

Today is Clara's 14th birthday!!!
But, oh my, I think she is quite different from the not so small one!
Working on story telling Sunday and travel arrangements later today.

Wow! That's a LOT of slugs. My little turtle friend would like to visit your garden and eat a few!

It's so cute that your little E loves vacuuming. One of my nephews (T) was obsessed with the vacuum cleaner when he was little. :o)

Your page is fabulous and I can not wait to see it every month! Amazed by the number of slugs but happy for you for the guest post invitations! Oldest son is 14 too this year but I don't think he dreamed about it beforehand! :)

Love the layout Sian, hate slugs, and that seems an awful lot of them! Shampoovering is absolutely brilliant, what a little star x

I love all the details on this layout! Little E's quotes just seem to get more and more clever!

Your page is brilliant - I particularly like the fact that you counted the slugs!

Love your month in numbers layouts! Shampoovering - brilliant little E. Ooooh - slugs - just the thought makes me shudder. Ok, off to work on my story for Sunday and it does involve something to do with Her Majesty.

Slugs and snails - I used to do a bucket of VERY salty water (boiling water over lots of salt and stir) and fill them with slugs/snails. My brother watched once and asked curiously 'why are you washing your snails?' says something about my tidying reputation that he was willing to consider it doesn't it.....

loving your Month in Numbers x
We feed any slugs or snails we find to our pet chickens who just adore eating them :D
