Halftone Hi-Jinks

I was flipping through a recent "treat" copy of Somerset Memories (couldn't resist, Julie has some lovely, lovely things in there!), when I spotted an article about an app I liked the look of. Halftone.

If it's a card and it features Little E - does that make it an Ecard?

Halftone turns the photos you take with your phone into comic books. And right now I'm using my phone a lot to take quick pictures I would otherwise miss. I couldn't resist. You can add frames, background effects, speech bubbles, daft captions - it's really worth a try.

You could certainly use the results for layouts and mini albums; but I think it really comes into its own for card making. It's such a quick and easy way to replicate those personalised cards we're seeing advertised everywhere now. And it works especially well for masculine gifts. (Fathers Day is only round the corner!)

Take a photo, have a bit of fun with a caption or quote (adding a date is easy too) and there you have it. I used Kraft card cut to 4x4" and some simple strips of Washi tape for these. And now I'm thinking if I invested in some new tapes I could try out some girly versions too. I'm even thinking about Christmas..

Yes Mum and Dad, I think he needs a car with slightly more leg space!

We can always rely on you to source out new and exciting things! I'm off to check it out, just as soon as I've mentioned that I agree with Amy, he really does need a bigger car of his own ;-)

Brilliant idea...especially for cards.

I am really interested BUT it means trying to find it and download it to my stupid blackberry. I get so frustrated with it because it really is stupid and it takes so long to do anything - I have nearly talked myself out of it now LOL

OH and yes, it would be a little Ecard...

Love your cards. It must be hard for tall boys to find a big enough car with affordable insurance, but I am also surprised at the number of tall men who stick with minis. Maybe they get used to driving with their knees round their neck and then can't manage with leg room? Or it keeps them supple?

Thanks for that tip. I'm going to be getting an iPhone soon---just waiting for the new one to come out. Then believe I'll be going "App."

Those look brilliant - laughed out loud at the E-card!!!! Now if only I had a mobile that did more than make phone calls .... I wonder if there's an on-line equivalent?

I had the same question Helena did :) I am just getting into the washi tape addiction!

I will need to flag this app. I have extended my wait in buying an iPhone - with hopes to get the newer version - lord knows I've waited 3 years, what's another 5 months?!
