This one
and this one
Perfection? That's funny! When I went to check what I had written on this subject last year, I noticed a big mistake in my journaling. I had replaced one word with another. So of course that's what I wrote about this year. The lovely letterbox is a postcard from Ruth and I have put it onto the back of an example of the cards I made to send this year. The paper bag format is working well for me - I'm getting the lovely chunky album I'd been looking for. This "advent" page is a pull-out from one of the pockets.
Now, for "perfection" next year I think I'll be making a page about the simply perfect Storytelling Sunday we had this month. We have reached 300 stories this year! And lots of new comers have put their hands up to join in in 2012. I'm looking forward to it. Don't forget, the linky is open all week - there is still time to bump up this year's total.
Finally today: one more photo especially for Hey Birdie who asked for a picture of our Christmas trees. Here is the one I took back in 2008 - I can't wait to see if the Christmas photography class I'm starting today will make a change in the way I photograph them this year. We've added a few more decorations since then too. So let's see:
Happy Tuesday!

Oh those little trees up the stairs look fabulous!! Great idea:)
What a fab page and those trees are just soo cute x
Cool shot of your stairs! Thank you for including my postcard in your journal. And BTW, I can't stand Charlie & Lola ... Lola is too annoying for words!
Oh Ruth, really? I'm rather partial to C&L, actually, some days it feels like I'm living with my own C&L!
Sian, your stairs indicate children of a certain age, the age of which mine have yet to reach! Very pretty indeed.
Those trees going up the stairs are divine!!! And that's not a word I use very often. Love the Christmas Journal page as well.
Yes, that old saying "it's funny becasue it's true" comes in here. When they were younger it was a bit Charlie and Lola round here too. Amy, you are right about the trees - hadn't thought of it like that!
I should also have said that we have an upstairs living room, so they light our way up to watch tv every evening
Alllllll is briiiiiight....*Ahem* Will go back and read your post now :D
Am back. You just made my 'Lola' squeal with delight when she saw that picture. She is convinced that because she is blonde (and cute and gorgeous - her words!) that she IS Lola or Lola's sister! Slightly obsessive. She has had a christmas present early because it's so cold and now struts like a catwalk model all the way to school in her red woolen Charlie & Lola coat! She's such a drama queen!
Love those tree's :D
Love your pages, and the sentiment about perfection being overrated! (I will not go back and change the typo I found in Day 3, I will not go back and change the typo I found in Day 3!)
I just spotted a mistake on my entry for today but I just added in the word - I am not going to re-write it :) Love the photo and the idea of little trees lighting the stairs xx
Thank you! They are simply stunning. I love how they work with the ones on the bannister. I definitely need to get myself a set of these trees, I wonder if my cat would chew them though. Hope to hear more about your photography course soon too.
Love the journaling pages, and I have no idea who Charlie and Lola are. :o)
Those little trees going up your stairs are just magical, Sian!
Love your pages - especially the edges. I think my animals would be the ones getting into the trees! I'm loving my Christmas photography class so far.

Such a lovely Christmas stairway! Your journal looks terrific! :)
I love the photo of the staircase!! Thanks for the comments on my tags, they always make my day!!
Your stairway looks fab but DH would have a fit if we did that :o
MY JYC is awaiting Saturday's crop - I decided to take notes and do catch-ups rather than daily pages!
I love how you're doing your journal this year Sian....I must say I miss having a staircase- I used to have wonderful garlands for mine!
Alison xx
The trees look wonderful,Sian....almost makes me wish we had stairs....almost!!!!
Your album is coming together wonderfully....the pages are looking great.
Oooohhhhhh I'm loving the trees, I must show the to Simon, how gorgeous. But I can't comment on C&L as not having children I'm not 100% what it means lol
Love the little trees. Hope the photography course turns out to be all you wish for and more. xxx
loving those trees Sian! and i'm enjoying your journal too x
Wow, I love how you put the lights on your stairs. That is beautiful!
Love the decoration!
I adore all of the journaling on your page. I wish I could do that! Your writing is so pretty.
Those decorations are gorgeous!! I wish I had stairs I could do that with!!
Love your pages so far and really love your trees up the stairs :)
Oooh, Sian, those trees are beautiful! And I love how much journalling is in your album, it's a lovely record.
very cool stair trees, what a fab idea!
I like Charlie & Lola too, especially doing Lola impressions.
thanks for the comment on my blog about your Mum ironing advent calendar doors, it definately put a smile on my face :-)
While talking to my Mom she told me that until I was 4 we had the piccy advents & the choccy ones used to be quite expensive.
Oooh you're hallway looks so festive. Love it. I like how your journal is coming together too. All bright and cheerful
Love the idea of the lights up the stairs but we are a house of small people and accident prone adults *sigh*
Such a pretty staircase ... I think perfection describes it perfectly!
I love the trees up the stairs... so pretty. Sadly I've not done one page of JYC so far. Loving yours.
That photo of the stairs is beautiful and very Christmassy! Your Christmas album is coming along wonderfully :)
Gorgeous trees Sian and I love how much fun your paper bag album is turning out! I am slightly feeling the error of my ways in choosing such a small size; mine is turning out to be more of a Jot a note Your Christmas; LOL!
Cute stairstep trees, we've got the 2D tree aka garland up again.
Love your lights on the stairs. We used to have garlands till that I tied on but we discovered they were doing a job on the stain on the railings so.... I miss them so though.
