As we reach the end of September I'm finishing up my tags (and wondering if I should adapt them for Christmas?). I'm showing one more set today. Not the lot - but you get the idea. Trust me, the rest are more of the same: insects, butterflies, birds and a fair old wrapping of string.
What else have I learned?
- good friends are good friends wherever they live.
- if you can't find waxed button thread, sewing the button on and then painting the shank with nail varnish seems to give a strong hold. At last.
- if you take frozen pastry out of the freezer before you really need to, you end up with a sticky mess. Now that's one I'm going to try to remember. That's the one I'll take with me into mincepie making season.
We're moving on. New month soon, new things to make. Learn Something New Every Day has definitely been worth the time. Maybe you are like me? I've learned a couple of new facts, some practical stuff I'll hold onto; and one or two things I'd probably be better forgetting again. Does that sound like you too?
Scrap 365 news: the winner of the blog hop has now been posted on the blog here. You can also find information about UK and international subs : first three issues for £3 if you live in the UK!
Finally..don't forget Storytelling Sunday this Sunday. Are you ready?

Another set of lovely tags - I really enjoyed seeing these. Can't beleive September has almost come to an end!
Ah, this Sunday is it I must try to join in for once. Aaaarrgghh why can't I think of a story when i need one lol
Lovely tags again and I think tags would look beautiful in a Christmas theme.
Sian a couple of years back I made tags for each day of Advent - ahead of time. Now I hang a length of string across the living room wall and add a tag each day with a little peg. By Christmas it looks great. [The tags are in here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nabview/sets/72157625645342190/]
Your tags are so lovely. Such softly autumnal colours + lovely embellishments.
Well done for completing (nearly) the month, and so beautifully. Mine never got off the ground ... may try October instead!
Wow! I love it, the colours are perfect. They would make fabulous Christmas banners with a fun bit of play!!
Your tag banner is lovely and it would be a shame not to have, at least some of it, on display all the time. Ah Story Telling Sunday.....I have such good intentions and then never seem to be able put my story into words. I love reading and commenting on everyone else's though, does that count?
Hurray that the button problem got solved :) I'm loving the yellow and black combination, very nice.
I think your tags would look very lovely indeed for Christmas.
By the way have you got a really big book ring to hold all your tags together?
Amanda, no I haven't! at the minute they are all sitting in a plastic takeaway container!
Fi - I always say "whatever you write is right"
Julie - genius idea. That would make a lovely change from Journal your Christmas this year
More beautiful tags Sian! And yes, I do have lessons that need to stick and ones I would rather forget. Although I actually think I'm going to miss LSNED when it ends this year.
They look fab Sian and would be gorgeous for Christmas - might even give that one a go myself
You've turned this into such a gorgeous project. A Christmas one is a great idea, akin to December Daily rather than JYC.
Hmmm, Storytelling Sunday ~ am having brain freeze just now!
Such beautifull tags Sian and they would be fabulous with stars and snowflakes and christmas trees...oh yes, i can see them hanging in my living room!! great idea xx
I think the tags would look great for xmas.
Nice job getting it done Sian! I learned that LSNE is something that, if I want to do it, I need to have a dedicated paper project to go with it. I didn't keep up with it as a blogging/photography project. But, the great thing about Shimelle classes, there's always next year!
Rinda
Love how you did Shimelle's class with tags! They are all so beautiful and I really enjoyed reading the different things you have learned from day to day!
Your tags are fab, Sian....Christmas ones would look so pretty! I think I have learned that a notebook id necessary for me, as by next day I had often forgotten what I HAD actually learned!!
Alison xx
I just love these ... such pretty colours, and the embellishments are varied but always perfect. I like the Advent/Christmas tag idea too. I could see me trying some with a little pocket on the back of each for some journalling. Such great inspiration whenever I visit here!
I have to say that I think that your tags are just about the prettiest things I have seen recently - gorgeous. thanks so much for sharing them with us all this month
Gorgeous...again! :)
You really HAVE TO adapt this idea for Christmas... and then share your work again - it's going to look amazing! :)
Things I've learned... scientists can't accurately measure how fast a penguin can travel.
... When you see a black flocked mock-chandelier... BUY IT!!!
... Cat's are more fussy eaters than a two year old with a toothache!
Oh wow, I love your tags, Sian :) And I love the thougth of maybe seeing more in your style but with a Christmassy theme! xx
Loving these tags Sian, and Julie's idea of using them for Advent or other occasions.
I'm feeling woefully inadequate - I've only done about 4 pages of LSNED. It must be so satisfying seeing your wonderful collection of tags.
Though my book won't be done til next week, I have done a good job of keeping up this year with LSNED. I liked having a focus for it, but I also learned that a daily project is difficult for me to maintain. I don't think I'll participate again. I do much better with weekly challenges or projects.
I am so jealous that you are near completion on this project! I loved your format from day 1 and each tag looks fabulous! I can totally see a Christmas version!!!
Yes Sian, the tags with Christmas paper and embellies would look fantastic! I have enjoyed this project and loved seeing your tags:)
More fabby tags - what a great collection you must have by now! They will look so wonderful on display - pleeeeease, will you take a photo of them all, once you've hung them up?
I will remember that Lesson about frozen pastry - thank you! (in fact, I've already learned it for myself once, but had forgotten... useful info!)
And Christmas Tags would be fab. I like Julie's idea of making them for Advent.
IF I can remember what I was going to write about, I'll be joining in Story-telling Sunday!
I've loved your tags all month long. Maybe if you give them some time off, then come closer to Christmas you'll be happy to pick them up again and make some for the holidays. I'm like you and always ready for what's coming up next.
Pretty patterns, love them. An advent tag set, now theres an idea. Trying to think of a story for you.
This project ha been so very you :) it's been really lovely seeing your creations
These are all lovely - the colours, details and balance has been so nice.
Advent tags, might make an easy December Daily album. As long as you have them all done beforehand of course....
Your tags look fantastic, I'm quite jealous of all the die cuts.
Thanks for sharing the button thread lesson - I'll remember this tip!
I still haven't quite finished LSNED, I have just a couple of pages left to do. I must complete them but I got distracted, other projects were calling...!
Sian, these tags, displayed as you have them here, would be a great gift for someone who spends their workday in one of those fabric-covered office cubes. They would add a nice spot of color to an otherwise drab environment!
