Pass The Book: June's Adopter And a Layout

I'll admit it. My courage nearly failed me this time round. When I posted about Painted Pages last week I hadn't had a chance to really enjoy it. Well, now I have. And I did think (just for a minute) that maybe you wouldn't notice if I moved quietly on without drawing a name...

..but just for a minute. Once I got really into it I started to see how Sarah Ahearn Bellemare (her blog is herehas been influenced by the sea and by her life on Cape Cod. I spent a happy summer holiday there once and I'd love to go back, so I thought maybe a page about that might pop into my head. But instead my inspiration from this month's book led me to make a page about plans for this summer. In a seaside-y way.

So here it is. I can't wait to see now how the same book influences its next reader. And that reader will be...

....Sandie of Itchifingers. Sandie, let me know your address and I'll get it off to you as soon as I can!

But wait, there's more Pass The Book news - if you would like to be in the drawing for Good Mail Day, hop over to Jacky's and place a comment here. And if you would like to read Where Women Create (last chance on this one!) make your way to Brenda's place and place a comment here. Give it a go. Go on..

What a lovely "wishful" page for summer! I would also like to do some of those things this year, when we go to Wells (Norfolk) for our little holiday. Also want to eat Dutch pancakes on the "Albatross" floating restaurant, and fish & chips from the Best f&c shop anywhere; and walk from Wells to Holkham, along the shore and through the pine woods (all in 4 days lol!)

Its great to have plans for the summer is'nt it. Lovely colour combo on this layout and also think the colour co-ordinate accessories to the photo are great.

I would never have thought of using that paper in that way, but I'm glad I do have a sheet of it and know just what to do with it, thanks to you.

I was so very nearly distracted from your brilliant layout by the most beatiful blue case. I can't believe your didn't mention it in your post :)I'm totally jealous who does the little blue car belong to, you didn't steal it (sorry aquire it) from little E did you?

Sian said...

Amanda - the suitcase is TSO's "evacuee" case and the little car TTO bought in a gift shop somewhere a few years ago.

I really like the colors in that layout Sian and the way you are staging your layouts lately is perfect!

What a terrific LO! Love these soft colours and the white space! The journaling with the little icons is so creative!! I think you are very strong to be able to pass on these lovely books each month! :) A true act of generosity!

I love how you make little 'sets' when you photograph your pages and have been inspired to try and be more interesting with mine.

Lovely page gorgeous soft 'seasidy' colours.

Your little boat and seagull doodles make me think of Enid Blyton books. Lovely, restful page.

You caught my attention with "Stroke a Viking's beard" ...?

Oh Sian what a gorgeous page. I really love the way you set your pictures up - I will have to try and be as creative when I eventually get scrapping again :D

I love those little people, Sian - so reminds me of my childhood ... What a wonderful idea to make a LO about your summer. Intrigued about the herring - are you heading for Scandanavia? (I am longing to visit the Swedish archipelago). And that little car is seriously covetable. :)

Another fan here of the way you've used the patterned paper on this fun layout! I just put Painted Pages on my Amazon Wish List since our library system doesn't have it.

Ha! When I first read your comment on my blog I thought you said you + the kids like talking about 'horses' not 'houses'!

I knew about Horsey himself ... but did wonder if you also had room for a stable up high in the sky there with you!

Love those airy summery colors and the way you staged your layout. Now I'm thinking about doing that, at least for my cards. Hmmm....

That page is simply stunning! I love the colours and I have been covetting that paper but it is out of stock! I love the little pictures you've cut out there. That book looks amazing too.

Yay!!! Thank you, Sian. I'm jumping up & down with joy! I didn't expect to be drawn for pass the book so I am so excited, specially as I am playing around with mixed media at the moment. I love your page too. There is something very nostalgic about it, and I love the way you staged it. Like Karen said, you've set a standard. I may just have to step up now as it makes the photo so much more interesting! I love beach huts. One of my favourite places to visit is Southwold on the Suffolk coast. The beach huts there are picture postcard, and there is a wonderful pier. I may just have to plan a visit soon now you have stirred my memory! Thanks again for your generosity in pass the book. I can't wait to receive it.
