Bring No Book

It's a beautiful day here today. Not one for sitting inside and cutting and sticking. It's a day for throwing my head back and looking to the sun and remembering a favourite bit of Wordsworth:

"Put on with speed your woodland dress and bring no book. For this one day we'll give to idleness"

I'm going out for some fresh air. I'm not even bringing a book. I'm going to be completely idle. And I hope that you find room for a little idleness in your day too.

Wow to that layout, it is gorgeous.
Is that real stitching I spy?
love the quote too

What a lovely quote to start the day! I agree with Helena - that really is a very gorgeous scrap page, Sian!

Funny thing... I always equate a "day of idleness" with curling up with a nice book! I find reading relaxing and a good "escape" from Life.
Enjoy your lazy day in the sunshine - sounds wonderful. I'm off to Scrap Club, for a day of cuttin' and stickin'!

Hello Sian, I can't think now how I got to your blog this week, but I did find it this week and I have really enjoyed it so far. I love your mix of the scrapbooking and whimsical approach to your blog. I find it inspiring and something I would like to emulate with mine. I shall enjoy looking back through your archive when I have a bit more time next weekend. Oh and the layout is beautiful. Jen x

It is a beautiful quote and such a gorgeous layout! The border around it is amazing, and I'm always enamored of the beautiful details in all your layouts. It's supposed to be a bit cloudy here, but the warmest day we've had in months. After church, I'm heading out to a new (to me) park with my camera.

Gorgeous LO! I hope you had a fantastically idle day. Maybe pondering the answers to your questions on Friday? LOL

A perfect day for doing nothing here too! However I am busy cooking dinner for 8 - one of whom is a professional chef (no pressure!)

Gorgeous Lo! It's actually too blessed hot here for me to sit out (about 28degrees)..at least until later in the day, when the sun's not so hot. So it will be a little bit of scrapping for me after lunch. Enjoy your day!

No idleness here today as DH is home and on a mission to get the house in order BUT he is at work all of next week and I am not so I have lots of idleness planned in the hours he is out of the house - heee heee heee.

that is such a soft and lovely page, based on and inspired by something very apt for a sunday. i love that you have such a great knack for scrapping thoughts of times gone by x

Oh so lovely layout. I think maybe today I get a bit of sunshine too - it's good for the soul.

I'm here to heap more praise upon your beautiful page - just stunning. The quote is fab too. I've been busy in the garden and come indoors to cool down - and, with the patio doors wide open, the awning down, it's as close to open air scrapping that I can manage :D

we might not get many more days like this Sian, so we need to make the most of it. I've been out in the sun doing nothing for the best part of the day too xx enjoy, and gorgeous page.

Love the quotation (which was new to me) and *love* the layout!

I wish I'd enjoyed some idleness today.... But the church meeting, painting the garage, changing the bedding in all the bedrooms, vacuuming the whole of upstairs, cooking dinner etc were all important jobs to get done today! This evening I shall play :-)

Beautiful layout. In my head I had planned a pleasent afternoon of hand sewing the binding on my quilt. Sadly such pleasures did not happen. Oh well. Hope you enjoyed your day.

Sian you are so lucky to have all these wonderful photos at that age, what a cute little dress and hat. I love the flowers at the bottom left.

Thanks for your comment today, I won't tell you how many takes I did ;)

Love the quote and your page. I'm thinking I will have more time for idleness come summer break, but that's 10 weeks away. Think I will need to claim some before then.

What a beautiful page. You must have so much patience for all that stitching!
I spent half the day being idle-ish, out and about with my Mum. My feet didn't touch the ground when I got home though, as there was a lot of catching up to do!

Such a stunning page Sian - it reminds me of flower fairies. All that stitching must have taken forever but it's a real beauty.

Was SO idle yesterday - recovering from Saturday.
