A Bit Of Better Blogging: Part Five

Better Blogging? It's been a while, but I'm marking the return of Shimelle's Blogging For Scrapbookers class (hurrah!) with a new selection of good things I've found. I hope you see something here to interest you.
  • Blogging Bookshelf - has a nice reminder here about adding your blog to your email signature. And a lot of other marketing based articles to browse - you could spend an hour in here.
  • Blog World - here is their update on the planned new Blogger interface. Did you know Blogger now boasts over 500 million posts? Wow.
  • Jacq's Blogger Tips - has lots of practical advice for playing about with your blog. It's unassuming and helpful. A nice site.
  • Makin' Cute Blogs - has free tutorials including this one on google webmaster tools and this one on meta tags. And she has some for WordPress too.
  • Just for fun - have you seen these blog cards? Like a business card, but for your blog!
  • Finally, I just had to include Julie's Tips For The Twitter Curious. Did I say comprehensive? This has everything you need to know! She very nearly, almost has me persuaded..
But wait, before you go, Mel's post on blogger stats got me thinking. Have you ever checked to see which posts are your most popular? I had a look and my all time most popular post in my first Storytelling Sunday. How about you? I'd love to know..

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We'll be having potato bread for lunch. With lots of butter.

Oh I know without even looking which is my most popular post. I still get multiple daily visits to the Tumbles. And Anne tells me she's had several orders come via people clicking through from that post. I tell thee - the CBeebies lot are missing a trick there.

Am going to leave this page open as a few of those links are beckoning me ;) Thanks Sian. DO come on Twitter! So many interesting people and sites and books to be found via there.

My most visited post is a mini-book I made from clothes tags. And most of the searches that end up there seem to be German ... makes me wonder if there's something lost in translation and they were actually looking for something else!

Thanks for mentioning my Twitter class! I used up every last drop of my persuasive powers in those posts ... so if you're still not in ... I'll have to leave it to Carmen to convince you!

I've just looked it up and my most popular was a Christmas Club post in Decmber last year, it surprised me actually, I thought it would be one from one of the blog hops we have all done.

I always find a gem from these blogging posts of yours - thank you for fishing out the good ones!

Happy St. Paddy's Day :-)

My posts with the most comments are definitely ones related to blog hops. But the most popular in terms of page views? March 8th, Project Simplify's Week 1 DeClutter Your Closet post! Second was Buried Treasure from last July. Both involve links from more popular sites. Otherwise my traffic is pretty much limited to my tribe!

Really interesting links, Sian, and I will investigate after I have waved my arms across the waves to you and said "Happy St. Patrick's Day!" Envying you the potato bread. It's just not the same over here. As for what passes for wheaten bread ... but don't get me started! This is YOUR blog!

Thanks for the links, Sian. I really should take a look. I wonder how to do that in Typepad. I love a project! Thanks :)

Great links; I'm also a Typepad blogger and I'll bet there are a bunch of similar sites for us as well, if only I would look.

My most popular was the post for the One Heart One World blog hop.
The most interesting stat for me is that I have A LOT of visitors from South Korea.

All good stuff...thanks so much for sharing!!

Happy St Patricks Day & that potato bread looks scrummy & beautifully displayed on a fine piece of Bridgewater!!!

I'm sitting out 'SFB' this time around, I'm not committing myself to any on-line classes for a bit, although I am being sorely tempted, as I have a LOOOOOOONG 'to do' list & really don't need any further distractions!!

I joined blogging for scrapbookers last year, but didn't really get off the ground with it, so I'm hoping to make a return to it this year :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you :) ... now that looks rather yummy, I must say - your photographs are so good Sian.

A great list there, Sian - thank you!
I tried Mel's tips and was really happy to find that my Tutorials are my most popular posts. That made my day!

I am so looking forward to the Blogging for Scrapbookers re-do! My most popular post is from January of this year about my scrapbooking goals and how LOM changed my scrapping last year. (It might have something to do with the fact that Stacy Julian had a link and write-up on her blog about that post! :>))

Ooh that bread looks fantastic and on such a photogenic plate! Thanks for the links.

Great links! I'm looking forward to Shimelle's continuation of the Blogger class, too. And I do check my stats regularly. Funny thing, my Friday Picks receives the fewest comments but the most traffic. Guess everyone's too busy exploring the links?

Lovely links. I'm really looking forward to Shimelle's class. I've just had a look at my stats and my most looked at post is one of my Pencillines layouts, followed by a post about me with a tooth abscess! Oh well, whatever tickles people's fancy!

It's made me ridiculously happy to see a link to my post here! :-) And I've had some fun following the other links - I've used Vistaprint before for 'change of address' cards, they're fab! Hadn't thought of 'blog business cards', but I'm definitely going to do something about them now, even if I design them myself :-)

My most popular post ever was my tutorial on covering a photo or mirror frame with recycled paper, back in October 2009.

What an informative post Sian! Thanks so much for the links, I have checked some of them out and have learned a thing or two already :) My most popular post was one I did last summer called Gift Wrapping Ideas, where I demonstrated how to decorate a jar of jam.

my most popular post ever is still the one about chicken spinach filos from 2008... followed by the mini diaries I made last year for handmade Christmas that were linked to by Avital at Creativity Prompt.

looking forward to blogging for scrapbookers, thanks for some more links to check out!

I'm looking forward to repeating Shimelle's class; I lost steam about halfway through last time. I have never taken the time to look at my stats, will have to do that.

ooh I am having a great Sunday afternoon perusing your blog! I have just checked my stats and my most popular post is about the Karate Kid film! I was surprised by that!
I am taking Shimelle's class for the first time so very excited!! Hope to see you there!

Thanks for all those blogging links. I'm going to check them all out once we get home. Have to check into Shimelle's class and see if it's still going to be open when we get home as well.
