Journal Your Christmas: The Beginning

I've just had a quick look back to my first "Journal Your Christmas" post of last year. I want to make sure that this year's album tells different stories. Funny, though, how little life has changed for us this year. I'm not complaining: it can be a good thing. We're all older (maybe wiser), that's for sure. The Tall One has got even taller (6'2" now, before his 16th birthday); The Small One is definitely not quite so small. In fact, by January I'd say we'll be staring down the barrel of a name change. And you can guess where that leaves me. The Accountant is still working his monster spreadsheets (and thankful for it) and flatpacking his way through the weekends.

And me? I'm still here. Making stuff and writing about it. Journalling Christmas.

And don't forget - Christmas Club again this Sunday! I'm looking forward to more of your wonderful stories..

Sounds like you'll soon be like me....the small one!!
Love that old photo....wish my parents had been more into taking photos....my dad was more of a whizz with the cine camera....my brother has loads of old reels.

I've been the shortest for over a year already. I'm happy for my girls that they all surpassed 5'4" and never have to worry about buying "petite" clothing!

Wow - I hadn't realized that The Tall One was actually that tall! ha. And I'm wondering what name The Small One will take on... :o)

Love the pages so far - it's poor old Craig who will eventually be the small one. The girls are shaping up to be as tall as me. I don't think he minds :P

Great start Siân - I too am wondering how different this year's JYC book will be ... I know that there were stories left untold after last year's - I'd better go and make a note to include them this year.

Great pages Sian, its funny to look through your old albums and see how much your scrapping style has changed. Mine certainly has from my first JYC :)

Great start to your 2010 album!

I'm catching up again....love your 'Choc Pop' LO & your description of an evening is much like our house!! I may have to try some kind of bait to bring them all into one room?!!!

I love your Christmas Club story & look forward to reading this weeks too! Maybe I'll get time to read a few others too & maybe even making an offering of my own...we'll have to see!!

It is fun to look back, isn't it? That's one of the things I'm appreciating about Christmas Club. I've been poking back through old scrapbooks looking for stories, and ive really enjoyed what I've found.

Loving the orange 'retro' style paper on the first page. Well I'm not that small but I'm already the shortest in our little family already. We have the short gene here but some of DS friends are giants! What do they get fed on?
Right trying to think of another christmas club story....I think an embarressing photo may be in order soon:)

I've been 'the small one' in our family for quite some years now - it does have some advantages though, got some superb black suede knee high boots from New Look teenage range last week. £14.99 - fantastic!!!! And don't forget that old saying about the best things coming in small packages ;-)

I love how you've used the wonderful old photo to illustrate the weather. And perhaps The Small One can become The Inquistive One?
Oh, and one final thing ~ can you come and work in my local library?; we had book group this morning and I was not impressed by the lethargic attitude of the staff ...

You have reminded me to have a look at what I was writing about this time last year! Certainly the weather is remakably different!
I am just think about Christmas Club as we speak ....

As my youngest is now over 40 I have been the shortest for a very long time. I used to be little mum but recently my youngest granddaughter asked "Grandma, are you a little old lady yet?" and I think I might be getting there.

I always love your work, Sian, and this is no exception. Since this is my fourth Christmas journal, I'm skipping some of Shimelle's prompts because I just don't have anything new to say. (The weather for instance, hasn't been remarkable here. If something changes I'll write about it later.) But I love every one of my journals and enjoy reading them each December when I pull them out.
