Celebrating Blog Friendships

Come on in! Come on in! You look like you've been celebrating already! Does that mean that you set out at the beginning, at Lizzie's place?

Welcome to my stop on the Celebrating Blog Friendships Blog Hop. D'you know, for once I hardly know where to start? I get a bit lost for words when I think about what this last year has brought. We have a saying round here: we talk about "taking a punt" on something. Well, last year - thanks to Shimelle's class - I took a punt on blogging, and - thanks to all of you - it's been one of the best things I've ever done. Never in a month of scrapbooking Sundays did I imagine that there were so many amazing, talented, wonderful women out there. All ready to share and connect and listen and laugh.

I'm hoping to meet one or two of you in person soon; but even if many of you remain friends across the ocean - well, what friends! Months ago now I wrote a post about a skirt of my mum's, a special one I was hoping to pass on to my daughter. One of you said "Well I hope she knows we'll be checking up on her to see if she looks after it"  and that has stayed with me since. Because it says it all. We're in this for the long haul. And what a lovely thought that is!

But of course there will always be room for one more. The door here is always open and the coffee machine never sleeps. Make yourself at home and wish Blogging For Scrapbookers a Happy Birthday by saying hello. Here's a giveaway to tempt you. It's a little felt hand sewn birthday banner, small enough to wrap around a card and put in the post - just leave a comment and I'll put your name in the draw.

But wait - before you go, don't forget to pick up the letter E

and take it with you. Collect a letter at each stop on the hop, put them in order from Lizzie's onwards, end up at Jo's and have a go at a Grand Prize! Now, with thanks to Lizzie and Jo for their magnificent party planning, I'm sending you on your way. Next stop is Rachel - have a good one! And if you get lost along the way, you can turn round and head back to Lizzie's and she'll put you right.

I always look forward to the next Post filled with great stories about life High in the Sky. I always read your posts and I enjoy them so much.

It would be great to meet some blog friends "in real life" one day. I know that Jo has a Plan...

It's been lovely getting to know you. You always make us so welcome.

I found my post for this blog hop the most difficult to write so far - usually things just flow for me and I found putting into words how much I appreciate the women I have met through blogging quite difficult. Thank you Sian for all of the wonderful inspiration and friendship you have shown me, I have appreciated this time with you immensly and I'm looking forward to the 'long haul' as well!

Well I came here this evening because we became "friends" through UKS and you disappeared to blog land (a year ago it appears!) so I had to come and find you ... well that wasn't just this evening, but you know what I mean! I've loved reading snippets from your life and seeing your creations and am in awe of the blogging community that you are part of ... it's a whole new world! When I saw that you were celebrating I went to where the party started and am following a wonderful chain of blog links - what a happy, talented, enthusiastic bunch of bloggers - great stuff and TFS

Hello Sian, I love visiting you high in the sky! The little banner is beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my blog. I am a little envious of the BFS community, but 'there's always room for one more' at the start of your post is so welcoming. Thank you x.

Visiting you high in the sky is one of my great pleasures. I've learned so much here, and I am always taken by your beautiful and thoughtful writing. (I actually have a few "copied and saved.") I'll be back to catch up with what I've missed while I've been away.

It was such a hard post to write, wasn't it? It took me hours to figure out what I wanted to say, but the words didn't flow comfortably until I really needed to crawl into bed with a tired bubba, then it all fell into place.

That's a very cute banner, I really must have a go at making a little bunting, for Christmas, I think!

Sian,
What a lovely banner! I've told you before but want to reiterate how much I love coming to your blog. You are such a great writer. I love all the stories you tell of your life - both the stories of your life now and also the ones reaching back into your family history. And all the lovely detailed layouts you share.
But mostly, I love how I feel like I know you and can't wait to come visit Northern Ireland some day.
Or you can come here to San Francisco!

I feel as if I know you so well, and when I visit your blog, it's almost like going to visit a good friend who makes you a cup of coffee, gets out the chocolate hob nobs and tells you all the latest news. You have such a way with words and I share your sense of humour. And quite apart from meeting you, it's been wonderful to meet the rest of the family (and that includes Horsey of course!)

I've finally found the time to catch up properly with your blog; I'm sorry to have missed the Blog Party, but I do agree with all the sentiments expressed. I love visiting your blog, and thinking about The Accountant whistling and the Small One rewriting her Christmas list, no doubt for the umpteenth time and checking out your fabulous scrapping and crafting skills! I could go on, but I think you get the idea! x
