Restoration: October at Gotta Craft

It's a Gotta Craft day today. And that means I get to show you the layouts I did with the October kit. It's Crate Paper's Restoration! These papers are fabulous. They were a big hit as soon as they were released; and it's easy to see why. So rich, so full of colour and detail. Can you tell that I liked them?

I did two pages this month, with photos from way back in our album. Back to when The Small One was really quite small indeed. And back to a crazy time when we were doing a lot of house renovation. If you look closely you'll be able to see bits of plastic sheeting and a lot of crumbly cement.

Actually, don't look too closely. I've got this for you instead:

and this:

To create that stitched shape I used a chipboard shape as a mask, did a bit of misting and then stitched round the outline. You can just see a peep of the lovely banner stickers included in the kit there too. I think Sandra has a couple of kits left here  the addons (chipboard! border stickers! free postage with kit!) are here and the shop gallery with Clare's beautiful card is here. I think it's my favourite kit yet.

Great LOs - love the stitched edge to the mask especially - loads of work but well worth it! Lucky you to be able to play with such lovely kits!

You've made a lovely job of these, Sian! The kit looks lovely, and I really like the layered embellishment look. Is the misting one of the techniques from your new book?

You should see the mess I get into with misting - it's more mess-ting when I've finished! I love the way you incorporate so many techniques into your pages, all that stitching - fabulous!

Sian, I would like to know how long a page takes for you? Your attention to detail and the layering on each of your pages is just incredible :-) Is this a quick, come naturally process for you? Obviously you love it so it is no chore!
