You Don't Need A Pill For Every Ill

Wow. Thank you for all your comments on my new look. As we say round here - you certainly aren't backward in coming forward! But that's what always makes reading your thoughts such a pleasure; and I don't think I would have it any other way.

I've been working with Marina from Penny Lane Designs, and we've made a couple of tweaks - I'd like to thank her for those after all the hard work she has already put in.

So, let's leave it to settle in and get back to some scrapbooking. I do have a page for you today. I've taken some Jenni Bowlin and gone back to our holiday:

What? You want the story as well?

Okay, so you already know that it started with our trip to Blists Hill and the Victorian Pharmacy, which we enjoyed very much. The Tall One was feeling a bit under the weather, though, and a couple of days later he developed a bad cold. I rummaged in my meticulously stocked first aid box and gave him some decongestant tablets, and sure enough, he started to improve. Or something.

I can tell the drugs are working Mum. I'm hallucinating a sad old man prancing about the beach in his swimming trunks, he said.

The Accountant does like a nice bracing dip in the sea, it's true.

Unfortunately, he also likes a burger. Which was his undoing once we reached London. What can I say? Any more would be too much information. But you can count on The Small One at times like these. Inspired by her visit to The Florence Nightingale Museum (look! the real lamp!) and her gift shop purchase of a pen dressed as a syringe, she felt moved to accompany her father back to the hotel. She hitched her rucksack high and marched him straight to the Tube Station..

Family holidays. Can't be beaten.

:-) yep, great story - always makes me smile or more. not sure if the Tall One's sense of humour is his own or yours, but it's funny nonetheless :-)

It's definitely his! Am I allowed a proud mum moment? He has a great sense of humour and there is always a crowd when he speaks at Debating Society :)

Obviously the Tall One has inherited your own wonderful ironic sense of humour.

I love the Tall One's sense of humor. And all's well that ends well.

P.S. Love the darker mossy green for the links! Great choice, now it all flows.

Love your Tall One's sense of humour! And thank goodness the Accountant had his own private nurse to look after him and guide him in the right direction. Am assuming from this story that McSherrif was left at home ;-)

Hhmmm your kids allow The Accountant to wear swimming trunks? Ours have banned them - only swim shorts allowed these days! LOL

That's sooo funny! I am sorry that the Accountant ended up regretting his choice of lunch though.
The Tall One is as funny as his mum!

Can't comment on the "Tweaks" until I go back to my laptop - everything looks wonderfully clear on the big pc, which has great colour reproduction. The Laptop is just like most of them - a bit on the fuzzy side... I'll let you know if I can read your posts once I have tried!!

Of course we want the story! You tell them so well. And a thumbs up to the green headings, much nicer I think.

Great story :) and a really great layout too.

I live close to a place where Florence Nightingale lived, and I also visit her grave occassionally (as it's not too far away). I'll have to dig out some photographs...

I was also wondering how TTO and TSO let their father get away with that type of swimming attire???? It must be so TTO can sharpen his wit?!
If he tells a story half as well as his mother there is no doubt he fills the room during debate .... it sounds like he has interesting material to draw from whilst holidaying with the family!
