Aah, it's good to be back! It's the right sort of holiday which leaves you sorry to go, but happy to be home. We've been away for two weeks - with no internet and, for some of the time, no electricity. A real break. A road trip.
After The Great Caravan Controversy of last year, we travelled sans trailer. Just us, one bag each and plenty of books. We started with a bit of this:
at Hadrian's Wall; and then an afternoon of this:
at Blists Hill Victorian Town. After that we travelled down England for some of this:
and every evening we warmed ourselves by the woodstove in the tent and read til bedtime with the help of this:
There was lots more, too. But right now my Google Reader is stuffed with good things and I need to get busy. Everything you've been making and doing over the past couple of weeks is waiting there ready for me to enjoy. I have new readers to say hello to, so hello and welcome to anyone who has come over from Posie Gets Cozy. Just before I left, Alicia was looking for volunteers to help out with her Summer Book List project and you know that's just my kind of thing, so I stuck up my hand, put on my librarian's badge and had a lot of fun doing it. If you like a bit of nostalgia just as much as I do, have a look!

Welcome home, good to have you back again. I'm looking forward to hearing tales from your holiday :)
You will be pleased to know that at no point in the last fortnight did Horsey 'hack' into your blog and do a few posts of his own ;-)
Looking forward to hearing more about your trip but please, nothing too exciting in the next week as I won't be here to read it! I will have a lot of catching up to do on my return.
Welcome home Sian! Your holiday sounds like total bliss to me. We keep talking about when the kids are older and we can slink off ourselves. He with his fishing gear, me with my crafty bits and just... be ;)
Thank you for coming to see me today and for your lovely words. I must admit I'm still a wee bit in shock and thinking they've made a mistake. But I'll enjoy it a while before they realise ;)
Great booklist - delighted to see Girl of the Limberlost on there, as it was one of my childhood favourites ... Looking forward to hearing all about The Trip. :)

Welcome home, Sian. I hope you didn't come back to any disasters caused by a certain "Horsey"?
I have just spent 2 days at my friends' in Cheltenham. A Horsey-look-alike lives in their walking stick stand, in the corner of the Dining Room (nicely placed to keep an eye on daily goings-on!).
Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving your nice comment. Do pop back when you have time - there's a new recipe today!

Glorious photos Sian.. looks like you had a gorgeous time on holiday. Know just what you mean about the laundry though! Two days camping = 4 loads of washing... ?!!
Looks like a fabulous trip, and the book list is wonderful too. I just glanced through it, and will be looking more carefully soon. I never tire of children's books.
