Find a photo, Shimelle said, and do something with it. I've been getting ready for the holidays here, thinking about summer photos, so a quick look back at the first half of the year and the stories I might have missed certainly seemed like a good idea.
Here we are back in January. The Small One and I, on a visit to the opticians. It's dark in the back of the shop, no windows, just a huge mirror; and if you are quick and quiet, you can jump up and down, make faces, have fun, without being spotted by the girl on the counter round the corner. Take our picture with your new phone The Small One said. So I did. Couldn't work out how to take one of those great chairs home in my handbag, though.
Happy Sunday.

Fun picture.
Excellent! Another fab and fun story, Sian!
I've been looking out for one of those bags, like Hermione had in the Harry Potter book (the last one!), which hangs tidily round her kneck, but holds a tent, sleeping bags, a small library of books, food, clean clothes....
Or I'd even settle for a carpet bag like Mary Poppins'...
Anything that you could slip a small armchair into would be a good idea.
Cute story Sian, I like the idea of sharing something from the piccy archives!!
Just made me giggle, as I can just picture you both doing that and looking around, waiting to be caught LOL - you manage to write the story and make us feel, we're right there with you both :)
The mirror at our opticians is in the middle of the wall of the very open-plan reception area, and overlooked by the large shop window!! I'm thinking I'd better not try this?!
As for the chair, you need to create a diversion ;-)
love this story! Hmm the chair is a bit of a problem though! Lol! x
Brilliant! I am a huge fan of misbehaving in opticians. I took a group of 8 of my students, resplendent in giant rabbit ears to our local glasses emporium and tasked them with choosing and modelling a pair for the Easter Bunny (because he was too busy at Easter time to choose his own, of course!). Great fun.
Our opticans has very lovely squishy brown sofas but I think I prefer those gorgeous green chairs! xx
Why is it much more fun when there's a chance that you may be caught out. My opticians sooo open plane no where to hide plus the last time I went I had to be scraped from the floor after being told the price of my new geggs (glasses). Fab chairs
cool snap, it's great that you and the small one have so much fun together! x
LOL - can you imagine if the opticianb had walked in mid leap? What a fun story Sian!
You two look so content together - love that! And I love your outfit.
Rinda
I can just imagine the two of you giggling up the back - and conjuring a way to snaffle the chair!
Great post, the photo captures a lovely moment -perfect.
