For Fantastic Fathers

I lost my dad when I was twelve - my brother and sister were younger still - and my dear Father-In-Law, too, went way, way before his time; barely six months after proudly baptising his grandson with his own name, in the family way. So today that grandson and his little sister and I will be spending the day making sure that the Dad we've got knows how much he is loved. Happy Fathers Day.

This is my dad, right here:

Yes Sian, it is important that the ones we have here with us know how much we love them - I hope The Accountant has a lovely day!

It's so important that we teach our kids how precious it is to have a dad to spoil on father's day. I'm sure the Accountant is having a great day! The Surveyor (over at our house!) is currently watching the football with a glass of red wine, having had his favourite Sunday meal cooked for him by The Hairdresser and The Political Student! I think it's fair to say he's having a nice day!

This is such a nice tribute, Sian. We'll be having breakfast with my amazing father-in-law this morning. Enjoy your day!

Sian, this is a lovely post, very appropriate. My Dad died 15 years ago, I miss him still. However, my FIL is here with us today and, like your son, my son is named after him. I managed to give birth on my FIL's birthday ~ such a clever girl!

lovely layout Sian and beautiful story. You are right that we should cherish those we love whilst they are still here. Time is precious and often too short.

I am lucky to still have my Dad

Hugs Suzy xx

A beautiful page Sian. I'm sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. I had mine until six years ago, and I still miss him (especially today). DH is out right now with our boy (watching his baseball game); this afternoon he'll spend time picking berries with the girl. Thanks for the reminder that they should realize how lucky they are to have such a great dad.

Although I know we miss those we loved so dearly all the time, it is on these special days that it is especially hard. I hope you've had a wonderful day. We certainly did.

A fitting tribute to all Dads here or gone too early.

Thanks for the reminder to appreciate what we have, sometimes it's easy to get caught up in family arguments or niggly annoyances, and I have to remind myself to let it go and enjoy life. I hope you and your family had a great day xx
