This one:
for the cupcake challenge. It gave me the perfect opportunity to use a lovely felt cupcake I received in a swap last year on UKScrappers. It came complete with cupcake recipes (isn't that a neat idea?) so I added the original (crumpled because it's been used) to my page. And of course it's 6x12 so it can go in my "Celebrate Life" album.
This one:
is for the bunting challenge. You can see there is an empty space where the journalling should be and I will finish it. I just need to decide how I'm going to pull together the threads: it started as a page about The Small One's yellow coat, which made me think of sailing, which made me think of the phrase "stars to steer by", which made me think about guiding lights and school and friends and, well, all sorts of things, really. But you can see where I'm headed with it, I hope, and I'll let you know when I get there.

Cupcakes my fave. Great LOs and my how your minds wanders!
Great LOs Sian. I need to hang my head in shame as I still have only completed 2 of Shimelles pages. Oh dear.
I love the small one's yellow coat and more good use of your material girl paper :)
That page is a great way to use your felt cupcake too.
Great layouts - the cupcake looks fantastic.
Love both the LOs,Sian...particularly the second one with TSO....the numbered bunting looks great.
Thank you so much for your good wishes.
Love your page almost as much as I love cupcakes!
Haven't had chance to have a go at this weekend's challenges, must try and catch up this week!
Loving the layered look Sian. The girl has taste...red shoes and now a yellow coat.
I love the 12x12 layout Sian - so beautiful and inspiring. Every time I look at it, I see something new.
Thanks for sharing,
Rinda (who definitely won't get to the party this weekend but hopes to do some at a later time).
Ooh I was in that swap too! Those cupcakes were fantastic for cards. Your LO is just perfect. As is the other (p.s. like the new profile pic :) )
two lovely layouts! i've been enjoying the weekend crop even though I couldn't really do much. great inspiration and so nice to see how everyone else interprets the same challenges :) thanks for sharing :)
Love the yellow coat LO especially :) I shall be back to refer to your pages for inspiration when I finally get around to using my Cosmo Cricket paper ...
You've done so well Sian, I'm eyeing off TSO's yellow coat ... far too cute!
Wonderful layouts, Sian! I always love seeing what you create. There is just something special about the "star to steer by" LO.
Ah, beautiful layouts!
Two more wonderful layouts, and lots to love about them. I'm particularly fond of the cupcake layout.
Lovely pages- really love that felt cupcake. I downloaded the coffee cup mini book - still have to finish it off. I wanted to do the bunting challenge, although finished I still might do a page.
Both pages are gorgeous Sian and I really love the papers you've been using lately with the people on them - did you say that was Cosmo Cricket? (Must not buy more pp, must not buy more pp!)
Thanks you for your lovely words today :)
Two gorgeous LO's...as for the Crop Party, I joined in the live chat on Friday night & made a note of the first three challenges & that was it!! Well sometimes life takes over, but it sure looks like a good time was had by all over on the forum!!!
I love how your train of thought works...my kind of logic!!
Two great LOs - I especially love your bunting one - the bunting is fab and what a lovely photo (and coat!)
Love that yellow coat, and your bunting is wonderfully cheerful! Any update on the car? alexa
Lovely Cupcake page - such fun and the colours are so cheerful and "cup-cake"-ish!
The Small One has a lovely coat; it does remind me also, of the old Fisherman's Oilskin.
"All I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by..." is a rather inspiring line really.
Sea Fever
I must go down to the seas again,
to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship
and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song
and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face
and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again,
for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call
that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day
with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume,
and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again
to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way
where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn
from a laughing fellow rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream
when the long trick's over.
