Last week, for example, I was about to open the kitchen door when I realised I could hear a heated discussion about music practise going on inside. I was wondering if I really had just heard the words But you don't need your jeans to practise your flute when the door opened and The Small One crashed through. She was holding the gathered remains of the top of her trousers round her person with one hand and the elastic from the waistband of said trousers in the other hand. But she managed to keep her dignity and I managed to keep my face straight as she made her way up the stairs. And soon the sound of the flute came drifting over the bannister. Obviously normal service had been resumed.
I have another birthday page today, and another reason to thank Helen. When I mentioned that birthday highlights for a 15 year old seemed to involve excellent cake and a lengthy session with Facebook, she suggested I make a layout with room for some of the favourite Facebook messages. So I have. Thanks Helen!
Today I'm Loving...Cate's blog header and this post about the changes in her children. Isn't it clever?

What a great idea for your layout - I love the title :) You're so right, it's lovely to hear the little things that go on in our lives :)
What a perfect page for a teenager.I love Cate's blog header as well....such a great idea.
Ah, very clever :-) I do find that my blog is a good way to collect notes ready for my journaling on future layouts - the danger is that I then feel like I've 'done' that layout when really I've just blogged it...
Love your layout, you are the queen of misting ;-)
what a clever idea. i have a very warped image in my head of flute practise though!!!

Wonderful post Sian. I do use my blog to collect tidbits for scrapbooking - sometimes I remember to go back and use them, sometimes not. Love the layout idea too!
Thanks for the link to Cates blog...what an amazing idea..love it!
I love your LO...what a fab way to record the addiction the Cake & Facebook...& Maltesers cake at that?!!!! Yum!!...even more so as not a single morsal of chocolate has passed my lips since Shrove Tuesday!!!!!
Love the trousers/elastic story! You are so right that we think we'll remember & then don't...& I'm told it gets worse the older we get!!!!
The Small One could have a blog just dedicated to her stories alone:) Does she know you blogged her jeans story though?
Another great LO I love the stitching and the misting looks really effective. We just need to get Helen to start her blog now :)
I love the idea of documenting some of the Facebook messages on a scrapbook page to preserve the memory! Great idea.
I love Cate's blog banner too - my favorite was her Christmas piece. :o)
I'm starting to worry that what I'm blogging isn't making it into the albums. I have heard you can get your blog bound into a book ... perhaps that would be overkill, but something to keep in mind. The birthday page is lovely, will TTO be a guest journaler?
come on over when you can, Sian. There is something for you on my site!
I love this layout! What a great topic for a layout.

Brilliant idea -Facebook is a real part of our lives now isn't it? Thanks for the link too, love it :-)
Why don't I ever get great ideas like this for pages?! Such a good idea to include Facebook on a teenage page. In 10 years time when she looks at that page she'll chuckle about Facebook, I wonder what will have taken it's place?
"Maltesers and Messages"... that's a fab title for a layout! It's a great layout too. I love the golden colour scheme - so cheerful.
I agree that a blog is a great place to record the little details of life. Mine is turning into such a mixture of personal thoughts and ideas, craft projects, family news and activities and daily happenings. I don't know why I didn't start one ages ago - bloggin brings me so much enjoyment and I'm making so many new friends. I love my blog!
What a great idea for a LO.
Love the LO and that misting effect is brill!! Oh to be able to look back in a decade at this page and say... yikes, remember how much time we spent on FB??
I love your layout its great for a teenager. Thank you for the link to Cate's blog too. xx
Oh my word that cake looks amazing! As does the page, what a brilliant idea about the messages. But the cake... ummm....
Cate banner is very cool, I went and had a peep :)
