A Confection Of Pink Perfection

Once there was a little girl who loved pink. She loved pink so much that she couldn't stop herself from cutting pink pictures out of magazines. She cut them out and she stuck them in a book of her own design and called it Think Pink and that was good. (There was one thing, though. She had the face of a little, brunette angel; but she liked to talk in really quite a gruff voice, so that when she said pink, it sounded a lot like punk. But her Mum thought that was just fine, because then they could both love The Ramones. So that was good, too.)

Now, this little girl was about to turn 3; and she knew that becoming 3 meant that she might have a party. She knew about parties. She had even been to a few; the most memorable of which was probably her big brother's trip-to-the-museum party. That had been a bit wild and free and, well, loud, really. And if your parents needed a lie-down in a darkened room when they came home, then where was the fun in that? Besides, she was waiting to start Nursery school so could make lots of friends of her very own. Then a party would seem like a plan. For now she wanted something quiet and Small One-ish.

So she turned to her favourite ally in smallness: The Best Auntie In The World and Best Auntie said she had just the idea. Which was right. She brought The Small One a perfectly pink party packed in a panier (okay, basket). Pink drink, pink balloons, pink cupcakes. A confection of pink perfection. So that being 3 was Very Good Indeed.

Don't forget the Giveaway is still open here! I have been very moved, and not a little humbled, by all of your generous, kind, loving comments. In fact, I don't really know what to say apart from thank you. You're the best!

Today i'm Loving A Collection A Day How clever is this?

Lovely story :-) Neither I nor The Girl has ever really been into pink - well, The Girl had a very brief phase, but even then her other favourite colour was blue - she's a bit of a tomboy....

PS Love your new photo :-)

Love your layout! The scallops are fabu! When we asked DD what kind of a party when wanted when she turned three, she said "pink." We had pink balloons, decorations, etc!

I was so glad to have boys..I don't really do pink & frilly!! Having said that I do appreciate how fabulous that 'Pink Party Package' would be for most little girls & how wonderful for Best Auntie to conjur it up!! That LO is simply gorgeous...as is the 'Small One' featured...and may I say, I do love how you present your LO's in your photo's!

Thanks for that amazing blog link..how clever indeed!!!

What a sweet story. Love the page. I'm really into the non-straight edges on layouts that are so popular right now.

wow, I had so totally forgotten about the pink party! Thanks for reminding me, even more appropriate when I am looking for party inspiration at this very minute. Time to ask my ally in all things small has she any suggestions for her special cousin's first party!!

Ahhh... That is such a sweet little story! Auntie Catrin is obviously a wonderful person.

Your story is reminding me of some of my favourite "Auntie" moments, with my nieces and nephew... who are now all grown up and starting to have children of their own. One baby girl so far, with another due any day now... I can start doing those "Auntie Things" again!

Thanks for sharing a great story and a lovely layout!

This is gorgeous - love that story. Have you attached it to the page in any way?

I have a pinky besotted 3 year old here with two Aunties who take great pleasure in indulging her whims! Oh, add to that anything which sparkles, could fall into the category of 'party shoes' or 'party dress' and that sums up our situation. We have not got into dolls though .... all of the pink and the sparkle is worn in the sandpit or when riding a bike!
Love the new profile picture Sian.

Loving the LO (as always :D)... you are so talented and clever :)

Another gorgeous layout, Sian. My little one, now 30, loved pink just long enough for me to stencil a pink border around her bedroom. Then she went to purple!
