The Birthday Bunting Page

"Why," asked The Tall One, just before he slammed the door on his way out, "Why do people say Goodbye when they know perfectly well there isn't anything good about it?"
I think he's got the back-to-school-blues. And double French class too. He'll be fine, though. He's off again tomorrow so the teachers can prepare for the annual Open Night.

It does mean I had to fit in some scrapbooking this morning. And this is what I came up with. It's not the page I intended to make at all; but sometimes you've just got to go with the flow. The December Studio Calico kit had some paper printed with bunting and I have been itching to cut it up and glue it on, so I found this photo from last summer and went with it. It's a unusual colour choice for me, but that's the thing about buying kits. You never quite know what you are going to get. I sewed the bunting in the photograph after the bir..no, wait, that's a different story. That's the one about my sister using the words "childrens birthday party" and "sweatshop" in the same sentence. It's for another day. I think the page about my new phone will just have to wait too. Maybe I'll get to it at the weekend.

Today I'm Loving...this gorgeous guinea pig knitting pattern. Now that's the kind of pet I like.

Beautiful page - I love the music patterned paper, the flags and especially the round starburst element peeking out of the left hand side.
Thanks for the inspiration, and I so want to hear the rest of the story . ..

Love the guinea pig, almost makes me want to dust down my knitting needles!
Schools closed again today around here, the school I work at is at the top of a steep hill, a steep privately owned road that is not gritted and is doing a good impression of a skating rink according to a friend who lives on it. Not actually on the road obviously, but a house on the road!

Love the contrast of curves with the triangles of your bunting, Sian... and the guinea pig is a perfect pet (unless, like me, your are allergic to mohair!). :) alexa

Love the LO, and I have that paper too. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it, but your birthday layout answered that question for me!

Your layouts are always great! The thing I like best about them is your clever use of details. I wouldn't think of combining the embellishments that you use...
Did you cover the letters in the title, or did they already match the background paper?
Bunting is great! I like the combination of that with the music paper.

Love your layout. Very clever in the way you left all the blank space. The banner is cool. Have you submitted work before? This one should be!
