How About That Plan B?

It's good when a scrapbooking plan falls into place. When what you have in your head begins to appear on the page in front of you; and when you stick that final letter in place, hold it up, and declare it done.

Doesn't always work out that way of course. Sometimes what I can picture in my creative head can't seem to make its way down my hands and onto my layout, no matter how hard I twist or turn it. When that happens, I usually walk away for an hour (maybe more: if it's a week, then it's a week, no worries), I come back, take a new tack and end up somewhere else entirely. I'm fine with that.

But what happens if you have scrapped serenely all afternoon, finished up with satisfaction, propped a page up to enjoy...

...and noticed an upside down embellishment? or a misspelt word? Or maybe a photo has gone down at a perkier angle than the one you'd been aiming for? Do you crumple up your layout in frustration and start again?

I'm not a crumpler. I like my supplies too much for that. Running repairs are where it's at on my desk. I like a Plan B. And so, when I discovered a typo on one of my pages for Gossamer Blue this month, I kept going, and thought I could offer encouragement to any other accident prone scrappers with a blog post Make Wrong Go Right: Having a Plan B on the Gossamer Blue blog. That's where you'll find my list of useful diversionary tactics and rapid fixes. Because if it has gone wrong, it can be fun to work out how to make it go right.

All supplies from the June selections at Gossamer Blue.

I always think that only happens to me!

Haha, I call those kind of mistakes 'design features'!

Excellent thoughts - I live my entire life always moving into Plan B (if I am lucky) but mostly I live on Plan N or R ... when tiny typos or up side down embellishments happen, I hear my Gran say "a blind man would be happy to see that". Going now to check out your Plan B ideas on the other blog site.

Love the contrasting alphas on the yellow

The last time I discovered a misspelled word, I just decided to ignore it! I'm hoping the overwhelming number of words spelled correctly will offset one or two that sneaked through. Off to check out the other ideas.

What a super page - love the yellow and green combo. Your Plan B is so much more creative than mine (which is usually 'Make Plan A Work). Off to read some more useful tips ... :).
