The View From Here..and the Winners

I have a bit of a thing for taking pictures through windows. It's been busy round here, plenty of thinking and planning going on; but I like to look up and out whenever I can. On a day last week this is what I could see:

We still have plenty of green. I'm waiting for the colours to change and for the leaves to brush up against all that brick and look beautiful. But it's good for now..and it got me thinking. Of course..

If you could only look at one view now and forever after - what would that view be? What would you choose?

I'm hoping I can improve the view today of our two Flair winners. Thank you to everyone who left a comment. I'm so glad you liked Shelley's buttons as much as I do because thanks to her generosity I have a set each to send to...

...Sandra and Stephanie. Congratulations! If you'd both like to drop me an email with your address, I'll get those in the post to you as soon as I can. Thank you for entering - and have a great Tuesday.

Now, about that view..

The view from your window is a tease!! It makes me want to see more. If I could only have one view, I'd like to look out on my garden. On a more philosophical note, I'd choose---laughing children frolicking about!

Congratulations to the winners. If I had one view it would either be an english beach or the valleys and hills of the west country- beautiful!

These photos would make a great LO! It's a great view with all of the trees! My one view would have to be mountains. Must come from living somewhat close to the Rockies.

Im a sucker for a good view. I won't even stop to eat our packed lunches on day trips or holidays without a good view. I suppose I have to say two views. One is at the top of a mountain in Slovenia where the Slovenian, Austrian and Italian borders meet....stunning! And a view down the road from me, a little wooded glade, when filled with bluebells that has memories of going there with my dad as a child.

If I could only have one view? goodness what would I choose? there are so many lovely things in this world would be a shame to only have one. I love my walk down the lane, I also love looking across the see at the rising sun. Or maybe a beautiful sun setting being the trees, or the faces of my children and grandchildren, or one I can no longer see now My beloved husband's face.
You have started me off on a train of thoughts I wonder where they will lead me

I'd like my view to be the one looking into my backyard. We have a bird bath, and a bird feeder--along with numerous bird houses. It's a joy to stop what I am doing during the day and look out the window into that scene. I like the cardinals the best because they can be seen against the darkness of the fir trees.

Mmmmm. I'm tempted to say rolling mountains or a sea view or something like that. But you know what? When we go to the lodge up in Scotland the main view looks out onto a tiny garden and behind that is a dense wooded area. You never know what you are going to see coming out of there - last time we went we saw from that window: fallow deer, bats, bullfinches (Craig nearly wet himself in excitement over the bullfinches!)... I'd love that to be my view all the time! So quiet and peaceful too. If I ever won the lottery I'd beg them to sell me that lodge ;)

Congratulations winners :D

I think my view would have to be a beach.....though I do love the view of my garden from my kitchen window.

Congrats to the winners!...& as for a view, if I could only have one, I would go for a sea view every time! I love the sea & would love to live nearer the coast, it pulls me all year round! :D

I'm loving reading about your views - there has to be a page in there everyone! In fact, I'm starting to think it would have made a good blog hop

You have a lovely yard! I am also waiting for the fall colors to come to the hills. One or two trees are starting to turn but I just love it when they are almost all turning at once.

Definitely a view to the ocean . . . preferably with some green in-between. Something like what I see now, but with perhaps a little less clutter.

I am after the view of a tropical beach with palm trees and very blue sea.

Well done Sandra and Stephanie!
If I am only allowed one view, hands down it would have to be looking at the sea, preferably from a boat with all the family!
A sneaky second would be looking towards the sea from the South Downs.Bliss.

That's a great idea abut a blog hop, Sian! A photo (or a description) and a bit about why. :)

I currently have a layout in process about a view from my holiday. .......sunshine, blue skies and the beach. It may be a while to completion though as I'm having a new window fitted in my craft room and everything is in disarray. I was only thinking today that everything still looked so green still.

I've always loved water so I'd have to be looking out over a beach towards the horizon! My dream home would have a sea view!

I would settle for the view from my cousin's front gate. He lives on top of a hill, surrounded by common land and his view is of the countryside between his hill and the Bristol Channel. On a clear day it includes the English coast down as far as Brean Down. To sit on the patio and see the lights of Portishead and Bristol is just too amazing. Yep, that'll do for me

you always come up with such lovely ideas...

definitely a sea view for me, without a doubt, and preferably a warm one x

I thought you might like to see my choice of view so I blogged

Nice idea Sian. It would definitely be Woolacombe Beach which is very near home so has nostalgia and is beautiful and is different every time I go. If I won the lottery, that is where I would park myself. In fact I have my house picked out :)

Your view is just lovely, Sian. I'm having a tough time choosing what I'd love to look at because it's a toss up between the ocean and the forest. If pressed, I'd say the forest because I'd love to catch a glimpse of a deer or squirrel from time to time...

Oh - and there would be a creek running nearby too. ;o)

congrats to the lucky winners! your pictures are a tease to those of us in the desert - green is such a soothing color but we don't get an abundance of it here in the outdoors.

How exciting I seem to be one of the winners! Thank you so much I do love a bit of flair!

As to views, well I live in suburbia and I crave looking out onto more of a country scene. I adore visiting Box Hill in Dorking to look out over the countryside so I guess that would be my pick.

I am so blessed that I moved this summer to Babbacombe, Torquay. Just round the corner from my house are the Downs with a fabulous cliff view of Oddicombe Beach and all the coves stretching round to Sidmouth. I don't think I will ever get tired of looking at it!

I'm rather loving the view I have this week although only temporary whilst on holiday. It certainly is very relaxing. You can't beat a view of your own garden though i think.

How appropriate is it that I come check out your view when I am in the process of making a page with a photo of my favorite view (well, one of my favorites!) - Creating with the October Citrus Twist kit so it won't be up anywhere yet... I hope that you'll share what you create with the September kit!!! :)

It would either have to be a very well stocked bird-table in a pretty garden or distant mountains in the west - for sunsets and snowcaps!

I would love to have a view out my window of a body of water--a lake, the ocean--that would surely be wonderful.

Melissa said...

I love a view that includes a blue sky and a few white fluffy clouds.

The sea, facing west so that I could see the setting sun would be my idea of heaven.

Beverly said...

Definitely a water view, preferably the ocean but a lake or river would do. If I can see water I am more at peace :)

It was a real toss up for me but I've finally decided it would have to be a view of the Pacific from a beach. There is something really special about seeing those sunsets. A close second was a view of the mountains.

An excellent question. I love bright green foilage and pretty flowers against a clear blue sky.

The rugged beach in Pembrokeshire without doubt, preferably with a couple of little people playing there ;-)
