Sweet Six Squares

It's been a little while now since Sandra at Gotta Craft sent me some of the new Authentique 6x6 paper. I'm glad I waited for this holiday photo before I broke out the pink ones. I think I'm converted! A bundle of smaller sheets is such a great way to get hold of lots of lovely patterns at once.

It's official. I'm going to have to face facts. She is now taller than I am. She has been a teenager for a couple of months now (you can probably tell by her expression) and she is growing up fast. This is the first big thirteen picture she posed for. I hope it's the first of many.

Quick reminder: Storytelling Sunday next week!

I think a stack of 6x6 patterns could persuade me to use patterns on a LO - I find the full sheets 'too much'. Love this layout - her expression is priceless

Oh I recognise that expression - you have many years of that to come! Such pretty papers, perfect for a picture of such a pretty young lady.

In our family we don't have sulky teenagers - no wait, don't jeer. We have lovely, well mannered teenagers that are sometimes taken over by an alien being. This alien backs them into corners and makes their lives a misery because what comes out of their mouths is not what they are saying. It is also useful at the point where doors will get slammed to be able to look at them and say "What have you done with my daughter/son? you alien! give me back my kid!

oh, oh I meant to say that I think she is beautiful and the page really show that.

Even with the slight 'teenage' expression....she looks so lovely....and so grown up. Such a gorgeous layout....and I am a great lover of 6 x 6 pads.....everything in them looks good together....and can be used for cards and LOs.

Beautiful LO and photo Sian; your LO's are always so full of gorgeous details. Oh and I certainly recognise that look! My two have been displaying teenage-esque behaviour for a while now. Although on a positive note, DD did decide to do her own laundry, whatever next?!!

Beautiful page for a lovely photo. I like her thoughtful expression (even if the The Not So Small Any More One may have been thinking "Get on with it then and let me get back to what I was doing").
Lovely use of 6x6 pages.

Such a pretty girl, even with the teenage look on her face! My own TSO is yet to catch up with me, but T(not quite so)SO is almost there now.

Hmm... I have about 10 years I hope before I see this expression on my daughter, but I recognise it from teenage pics of myself! Lovely page, the tinsel flower is really pretty, just like TSO. X

Love your use of the papers Sian.....my advice for the teenage years is to take every photo opp they allow you to have-there are definately fewer!

such a gorgeous layout. I like the square grid background and the pretty embellies you've used. Pretty pretty pretty. I haven't tried using 6x6 pads but they seem to be really popular so I suppose I shold give them a try!

Love how you've used the 6x6 papers, I have a stash of these from Sandra now that I'll be putting to good use very soon. I too have a teenage daughter who is now officially taller than me, she likes to pat me on the head to remind me!

Great layout and an even more stunning portrait! I don't think your photography skills get enough notice but they sure shine here.

Just remember...no matter how tall she gets, you're still the mom (though there will likely be times when you're more inclined to think "I'm only the mom," especially when she's determined to go her own way even when you think it's exactly the wrong thing to do.

A lovely young lady and a wonderful capture. Keep getting the photos before she reaches the really annoying teenage phase of refusing to get photographed! ;) I Love these papers and actually just picked some up on Friday night! Yes, small grids let us enjoy all the wonderful patterns. I really must try to veer towards this and away from layering! The cluster is perfect!!

Great layout Sian - I agree, it's nice to have the little patterned papers because you can use quite a few different ones for a nice effect.

So pretty - the play of all those patterns really works.

gorgeous layout and colours and girl! i love the idea of 6" x 6" stacks but after I've used the first sheet of each design I am usually ready for a change which makes me wonder if they are worth the money (if I dont use the rest of the sheets for example!)

Thirteen and still posing for photos? You're doing well there!

Such a pretty page and photo, Sian - they are both lovely. I like 6x6 pads too, because the smaller patterns suit me better. Welcome to the world of being smaller. Forever!

Lovely layout - the papers are gorgeous. Have to use papers like this with photos of my nieces now as Penny is not a girly girl at all!

Your girl is just beautiful Sian. I agree with the 6x6 paper pad thing, so versatile.

She has a very thoughtful beauty, she sure is going to break hearts soon :)

Gorgeous use of papers, I tend to use this size for cards, but sure shows how versatile they are.
