The Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness

I can't help it. I'm ready for Autumn. It's my favourite time of the year and I'm not putting it off any longer. I've been out looking for blackberries:

and I've brought my purple boots out of storage

and I've even started knitting an autumnal coloured Professor Plum cardigan for Uncle Dave

What can I say? I fell heavily for Fall many years ago. It was my dad's favourite season too, so my Mum says. A couple of brand new sticks of blackboard chalk in his pocket and he went back to school after the Summer, ready for anything. I'm kind of feeling the same way myself this week. September, I'm ready and waiting..

You have been asking about the actions I used in Thursday's post. They are from Florabella's "Color and Haze" collection. I used "Milk and Honey" on Thursday and today I tried "Sweet Color". Any other recommendations now I know how to install them?

Loving the colours of this post - particularly the boots! I have boot envy :0)
I hate the feeling that summer is over but you have given me some good things to look forward to.

Autumn here is always welcome...it means cooler, but still pleasant daytime temps which means I can actually spend more time outdoors! Love those boots Sian!

There are lots of things I love about fall---boots and sweaters are two of them. Love yours.Starting a new classroom each fall was my favorite part of teaching; I'm going in to help a friend with her bulletin boards this morning. Nonetheless, fall is a reminder that winter is not far away, and sadly, that is NOT my favorite season. Sadly, because it is usually our longest season! So I'm enjoying these last days of summer and hoping this winter is a bit shorter than last.

We've had such an awful summer one way or another - I'm so ready for Autumn too! Sloes are on the trees, long sleeved tops back out of storage, and now and again the heating has been put on (don't tell the husband!) Lovely knitting, please tell Uncle Dave we want a photo of him wearing the finished item!

I too like Autumn and the mellowness that comes with it, although the thought that winter comes next is not very appealing! The actions you have applied to the photos look amzing.

Oh, I am ready for Fall too! It has been so very hot here for so long this summer, however yesterday was overcast and rainy (just a little rain here & there). It's the first rain we've had in almost three months and the first reprieve from over 100 degree temps. Of course, it won't last just yet, but it did let me glimpse that fall will be coming . . . eventually. :>)

And now I'm covetin boots. You are responsible for all of my cravings...

Those boots are awesome!!!! I'm not a fan of blackberries but they are the Chosen One's favorite. They have been plentiful here for the last month or so. We'll have summer temps for another month so I will savor my hot and humid days :) Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts.

Wonderful rich colours - Uncle Dave is a lucky man. Are you going to lend him the boots, or will he let you borrow his jumper? :)

I love the colours of Autumn and, to be honest, Summer hasn't lived up to expectations so I'm nearly ready for Autumn too.
I've been catching up on some of your recent posts and want to add my Congratulations to The Tall One on his results and good luck for the next two years. Emily starts her GCSEs this year so we're just about to start.
I love your knitting (and can I just add I wish mine was half as neat as yours!!) and look forward to seeing the finished article. :) I'm still quilting my log cabin squares and when I lay it out to see what it'll be like I get excited! I'll have to post photos soon.
xx

Loving the look of Uncle Dave's cardigan. I had my eye on some lovely plum coloured wool today but couldn't decide what I'd use it for.....
Love your boots too :)
Have you signed up for Kim Klassen's free textures. There is a new one every week and just recently she had some brushes too.

I have to agree with you about autumn - it's totally my favourite time of the year. I love everything about it - the light, the smell, the air, the colours, the shortening days. I walk around with a grin on my face the whole season.
Ps. Your boots are just gorgeous!

Autumn is my favourite season but I'm still pouting over this awful summer... I need a wee bit more sunshine!

Blackberries are another favourite here, love crumbles with custard with almost any combination :yum:

Another Autumn fan here. I really love the plum colours. I am thinking of getting my needles out of storage, you have inspired me.

Lovely photos! Fall is my favorite season, too. It never lasts long enough. I am ready to change to cozier clothes and comfort food!

i LOVE Fall :) the whole going back to school thing, but mostly the change in the colour of the trees... although that only lasts for about 2 weeks here before the leaves fall off :(

In my perusal of actions, I also think MCP has some interesting ones, but if I was going to purchase, I would go with ANY of the ones from Florabella... If I could I would have all of them... :)

BTW... those boots ROCK!

Autumn is the new spring for me too Sian. I love those boots, my favourite boots have done too many seasons and I am having some new ones this year. I have never thought of purple....I do now.

Am I the onlu one that doesn't understand what "Actions" are? Hmm probably. It's something like an app isn't it? and I can't get those to work either ~sigh~

I'm with you all the way - Autumn is by far the best season of the year! Not too cold, never too hot... and with the most beautiful sunsets that are full of vivid oranges and plummy purples. Oh, and autumn fruit too .... love it!

I love Autumn too, and in some parts of the world it's already September, but I'd like to hold onto summer for just a little longer, pleeeease! I'm not ready to swap my snadals for boots yet

loving all the blackberry colours! I have already picked some and made a couple of crumbles! I love autumn too for lots of reasons but I want summer to last a little bit longer (especially as we are meant to be camping this weekend!!)

There is something very comforting about autumn & winter. Firstly, I prefer the clothing, and something lovely about lighting candles and getting all comfortable on the sofa. Plus Boots :) yay.... ooohhh I love them

Oh, my goodness. I want your boots! They are SO pretty!
And the cardigan is beautiful, too.
I am like you - I'm impatient for fall to arrive and it is my favorite season - the one in which I feel most alive. We've had a few delicious hints in the mornings lately, but so far it hasn't "stuck" yet.
Fingers crossed we both get our weather change soon!

I love the color of your boots and of the work-in-progress cardigan. Winter weather makes me glad we live in Florida, but I must admit I miss autumn--the bit of chill in the air, the color of the light, leaves changing, etc. Here, we won't get that until at least December--lots of hot weather still ahead for us.
